Publication number: 20100290831Abstract: Coupling assemblies (2) are utilized to assemble a storage cube (1) having a top member (10), right member (12), bottom member (14) and left member (16). Adjacent members are coupled together through the use of T-tongues (20, 40, 44, 48) received within corresponding ones of T-slots (18, 38, 42, 46). The T-tongues and T-slots terminate certain distances (24, 36) from edges of the members (10, 12, 14, 16) thereby providing for blind configurations allowing for edges of members (10, 12, 14, 16) to be profiled, finished or otherwise decorated.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2009Publication date: November 18, 2010Applicant: Sauder Woodworking CompanyInventors: Marvin K. Publication number: 20090115298Abstract: An entertainment cabinet (100) includes a pair of bi-fold doors (122). The cabinet (100) includes a top (102), sides (104, 106), rear (108) and bottom (110), with a central display space (112) positioned therein. Each of the bi-fold doors (122) includes a first storage door panel (130) having an open-sided channel (141) formed through a first let (136), second leg (138) and bight portion (140). The first leg (136) has an end section (144) hinged with a front section (142) of a left side (106) of the cabinet (100). The first door panel (130) hinges between a closed position, which partially conceals the central display space (112), and an open position, revealing the central display space (112). A second or cover door panel (134) is formed as an L-shaped channel member with a first or short leg (150) and a second or long leg (152). The short leg (150) is connected to the second leg (138) of the storage door panel (130) through a door panel hinges (156).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2008Publication date: May 7, 2009Applicant: Sauder Woodworking CompanyInventors: Timothy J. Patent number: 4323615Abstract: The invention disclosed relates to a method of making laminated products such as furniture, cabinets, counters, and the like. A laminate formed of thermosetting polyester saturated on paper of 8-12 mil thickness is bonded with a thermoplastic, thermoforming acrylic saturated on paper of 12-18 mil thickness. The bonded layers are shaped over at least two surfaces angularly positioned relative to each other. For examples, the bonded layers are shaped around sharp corners or edges of a substrate, such as conventional fiberboard, particle board or wood, under heat and pressure. A hot melt adhesive, preferably coated on the inner surface of the bonded laminate attaches the laminate to the one plane surface of the substrate and bending pressure is applied as the substrate and laminate pass through a series of rollers to bend the laminate in degrees around the corners and into contact with the other surface of the substrate. Pressures are in the 20-200 psi range and at temperature in the range of 350.degree.-450.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1978Date of Patent: April 6, 1982Assignee: Sauder Woodworking CompanyInventor: Myrl D.
