Patents Assigned to Saudi Arabia Oil Company
  • Patent number: 11732202
Abstract: A method for producing aromatic compounds from pyrolysis oil comprises: upgrading the pyrolysis oil to pyrolysis gasoline in a multi-stage reactor comprising a slurry-phase reactor and a fixed-bed reactor, wherein the slurry-phase reactor comprises a mixed metal oxide catalyst, and the fixed-bed reactor comprises a mesoporous zeolite-supported metal catalyst; aromatizing the pyrolysis gasoline in an aromatization unit; hydrodealkylating and transalkylating a product from the aromatization unit in a hydrodealkylation-transalkylation unit, thereby producing an aromatic stream; and processing the aromatic stream in an aromatics recovery complex to produce the aromatic compounds comprising benzene, toluene, and xylenes (BTX).

  • Patent number: 10344221
Abstract: A system for separating water from crude oil includes a bulk-storage tank for storing unrefined crude oil, a first pipe for delivering water separated from crude oil in the bulk-storage tank to a containment system, a second pipe for delivering crude oil to a shipping system, a first valve for controlling flow in the first pipe, a second valve for controlling flow in the second pipe, and a control system for controlling operation of the first and second valves. The control system has a control device for controlling the first and second valves, an acoustic sensor array mounted on the first pipe for sensing a sound pressure level during flow of water through the first pipe, means for comparing the sensed sound pressure level with a predetermined sound pressure threshold level characterizing flow of oil-water mixture through the pipe, and a control device for closing the first valve and opening the second valve when the measured sound pressure level reaches the sound pressure threshold level.

  • Patent number: 9500057
Abstract: A method of installation of a completion assembly apparatus into a wellbore with a liner hangar packer includes introducing the completion assembly apparatus into the wellbore, where the hybrid sealing assembly couples to the polished bore receiver assembly such that the hybrid sealing assembly is not operable to move laterally within the polished bore receiver assembly, positioning the completion assembly apparatus such that the completion assembly apparatus couples with the liner hangar packer, which establishes fluid communication between the polished bore receiver assembly and a portion of the wellbore downhole from the liner hanger packer, and operating the completion assembly apparatus such that the hybrid sealing assembly decouples from the polished bore receiver assembly such that the hybrid sealing assembly is operable to move laterally within the polished bore receiver assembly. The hybrid sealing assembly includes an unswollen swellable packer operable to swell upon exposure to a swelling material.

  • Publication number: 20130160884
Abstract: A leaking block valve isolation tool for insertion through a vent duct and blocking valve of a gas flow duct. The isolation tool includes an outer tube having proximal and distal ends, the outer tube having a diameter sized to extend through the vent duct and blocking valve. An inner tube having proximal and distal ends is arranged coaxially with and movable within the outer tube. An inflatable balloon is attached to the distal end of the inner tube, wherein the isolation tool outer tube is insertable through the vent duct to an opening in the gas flow duct. The inner tube is slidably insertable through the outer tube until the balloon is situated within a bore formed through the gas flow duct and is inflatable therein to block any gas leak through the gas flow duct.

  • Publication number: 20130144583
Abstract: A hyper-dimensional simulator performs petroleum reservoir engineering and geosciences in a spatial volume operating environment. The entire spatial volume is ‘active’ for reservoir and geosciences applications. Although points in 3-D space are available for reservoir engineering and geosciences functions, it is conceptually easier to work with virtual, that is hyper dimensional surfaces and media. Limitations of single channel input using the mouse and/or keyboard imposed by prior art methods.

  • Patent number: 8321134
Abstract: Seismic image filtering machines, systems, program products, and computer implemented methods are provided to generate a filtered seismic image responsive to filtered seismic image data generated by attenuating coherent seismic noise from surface waves of an unfiltered wavefield constructed from unfiltered seismic image data through a single downward extrapolation of the unfiltered wavefield using a plurality of nonstationary convolution operators to perform localized filtering at each of a plurality of spatial locations of the unfiltered wavefield. Various embodiments, for example, can beneficially handle strong lateral velocity variations thus making various embodiments effective tools to remove complicated coherent seismic noise which is typically in the form of exponentially decaying evanescent waves.
