    Abstract: According to some embodiments, a process for producing hydrogen may comprise operating an electrolysis cell with a source of electricity to produce an oxygen stream and a hydrogen stream from water, reacting a hydrocarbon feedstock with the oxygen stream to partially oxidize the hydrocarbon feedstock, thereby producing a synthesis gas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide; passing the synthesis gas and a water stream to a heat exchanger to produce steam and to cool the synthesis gas; and reacting at least a portion of the synthesis gas from the heat exchanger and at least a portion of the steam from the heat exchanger.
