  • Patent number: 4102115
Abstract: A service carriage for use with a spinning, twisting or winding frame which has a plurality of equally spaced spindles and a plurality of equally spaced work stations thereon. A compressed air system on the carriage is supplied with compressed air from a source of compressed air via a compressed air duct. The compressed air duct is fixedly arranged at each side of the frame and extends in the longitudinal direction of the frame and is connected to the compressed air source. The air duct has a plurality of automatically closing button-actuated valves which are connected in circuit therewith. Each of the valves has a closure member associated therewith. The spacing between the valves corresponds to a whole integer multiple of the spindle spacing. A plurality of coupling heads are arranged one behind the other in the direction of movement of the carriage and are mounted on a common slide member.

  • Patent number: 4100399
Abstract: A programmable electronic control system is provided to control the feed devices which supply different threads at different speeds in a spinning or twisting machine in order to produce yarn with special effects of color or shape at intervals along the yarn. The control system is supplied with clock pulses synchronous with the machine at intervals corresponding to a unit length of the basic thread feed. The length of a program module is determined by a settable pulse divider operating on the clock pulses and the resulting pulses are fed to a settable counter which determines the points in the module at which changes take place. Provision is made for repetition of program units a selected number of times and for interruption of the program at a random point.

  • Patent number: 4080776
Abstract: A threading device for double twist thread twisting frames which have a spindle and a suction device movable toward a storage disc on the frame. A service carriage is movably mounted on the frame along one side thereof. A threading head is movably mounted on the service carriage and is movable between a rest position remote from the spindle and a threading position in which it is in registry with the upper end of the spindle. The threading head has on its side facing the spindle axis an inlet slot that extends parallel to the spindle axis. A thread channel is provided adjacent the bottom of the inlet slot and, in the threading position of the threading head, is in registry with the spindle axis. At least two holder elements are mounted on the frame and are spaced one above the other and substantially in the plane of movements of the inlet slot on the threading head.

  • Patent number: 4067180
Abstract: A bobbin holder arrangement having an open top stationary bobbin box with a first bobbin carrier removably mounted therein for supporting a first thread carrying bobbin thereon. A rotary flyer is rotatably secured to the first bobbin carrier and is removable therewith and has a thread guide thereon for guiding a thread from the first bobbin. A second bobbin carrier is releasably mounted on the first bobbin carrier for supporting a second thread carrying bobbin thereon and above the rotary flyer. The thread guide on the rotary flyer is located at a location which is greater in diameter than the maximum diameter of the second bobbin so that the thread on the first bobbin is unwound therefrom through the thread guide on the rotary flyer and is held in spaced relation from the periphery of the thread wound on the second bobbin.

  • Patent number: 4067183
Abstract: A thread guide construction for use in the production of twisted threads. The thread guide is composed of a plate arranged essentially horizontally and having at least three guide eyes arranged symmetrically to one another for a separate guiding of the threads which are to be twisted. A separating member is secured to the underside of the plate between and symmetrical to the guide eyes. The separating member has a width which is less than the spacing between the guide eyes and has a surface thereon converging from the plate toward a terminal location spaced from the plate. The surface is opposed to each of the guide eyes so that when a pulling force is applied to the twisted threads during a twisting operation pulling same away from the plate, the threads are normally free of engagement with the separating member and are in engagement with the surface during a time when the pulling force has been substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 4055937
Abstract: A double twist thread twisting frame having a plurality of double twist spindles thereon each of which is surrounded by a balloon limiter having an upper rim thereon and at their lower parts a storage disc and a whorl driven by a belt spaced below the storage disc. A closure structure is provided around each balloon limiter to define a channel which communicates with the spindles and the interior of the balloon limiters. A suction device is connected in circuit with the channel means to evacuate the air contained therein. The closure structure, particularly an upper wall thereof, is located generally at the level of the upper rim of the balloon limiter and has a circular opening coaxial with the upper rim of the balloon limiter. The circular opening is somewhat smaller in diameter than the upper part of the balloon limiter.

  • Patent number: 4050227
Abstract: Spindle for ring spinning and ring twisting frames, especially for cord twisting frames, having an underwind crown arranged coaxially on the spindle below the bobbin and above the whorl, the crown having an extensive sleeve part for the winding-on of a thread during underwinding and an annular rim extending outwardly with recesses at the periphery and adjoining the sleeve part upwardly, from the base of which rim there may project cutting edges of at least one knife. With ring spinning or ring twisting frames equipped with such spindles the ring bank, after a predetermined measured length of thread has been wound on the bobbin, falls to a so-called underwind stop, by which the spindle drive is switched off. The traveller and twisting ring are located at a level at which during decrease of the spindle drive down to standstill of the spindles the thread is no longer wound on the bobbin but is wound on the cylindrical sleeve part of the underwind crown.

  • Patent number: 4044623
Abstract: Toggle-lever construction especially for a vise or similar holdng means. There is provided a toggle-lever construction in which one end thereof is backed against a suitable anchor device and the other end thereof bears against movable means such as the jaw of a vise. A relatively light force applied laterally of the toggle will produce a large force longitudinally thereof. In one embodiment the lateral force is applied by a longitudinally moving tapered screw. Wear on the toggle is minimized by providing rounded ends having substantially only a line contact between the components of the toggle with respect to each other and between the components of the toggle and the means engaging the respective free ends thereof.

  • Patent number: 3950931
Abstract: A brake for the travelers of a twining ring or a spinning ring machine. Such machines have a series of rings each with an associated traveler and a common brake rod which can be operated to move braking units into the paths of the travelers. The braking units are made in ring form so that, when operated by the brake rod, they occupy substantially the whole of the paths of their associated traveler and can therefore engage the traveler and brake their motion wherever the traveler happen to be when the brake is applied.
