Patent number: 5592976Abstract: A weft yarn break for a power loom has first and second sets of hoops. Each set of hoops has at least two hoops which are spaced apart and essentially parallel to each other. A mechanism drives at least one of the sets of hoops about a rotational axis so that the first and second set of hoops have a relative swivelling, motion. A transversing hoop is disposed in the running direction of the weft yarn and includes an inclined surface located across the running path or direction of the weft yarn. The weft yarn is shifted up and down the inclined run-up surface as the first and second set of hoops are swivelled relative to each other.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1995Date of Patent: January 14, 1997Assignee: Saurer Sticksysteme AGInventor: Rudolf Zwiener

Patent number: 5497719Abstract: An embroidering machine includes a machine stand with a substantially U-shaped cross-section that is open at the top, and has at least two substantially vertical U-shaped frames (16) that are open at the top and are connected by longitudinal supports (3, 3a) and form a channel (14) that runs in the longitudinal direction of the machine and is open at least at the side ends. Shafts of a fabric stretching frame (10) are positioned in movable fashion in this channel. A further U-shaped frame, open at the bottom, may be arranged on top of the vertical U-shaped frames that are open at the top to form a substantially rectangular frame.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1993Date of Patent: March 12, 1996Assignee: Saurer Sticksysteme AGInventors: Jurg Henz, Hans Abegglen, Yueliang Yu

Patent number: 5438941Abstract: An embroidery machine having horizontally parallel fabric shafts for the vertically arranged embroidery fabric. A plurality of upper and lower horizontal guides are distributed over the length of the machine. One upper and one lower horizontal guide are each connected to a horizontal guide element by vertical connection elements, the horizontal guide elements and the fabric shafts each being vertically adjustable by a positioning drive in guides mounted on the machine.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1994Date of Patent: August 8, 1995Assignee: Saurer Sticksysteme AGInventors: Jurg Henz, Hans Abegglen, Xueliang Yu

Patent number: 5410974Abstract: The invention pertains to an embroidery machine with a plurality of embroidery stations provided with corresponding embroidery tools which are attached to shafts that oscillate during the operation of the machine and extend along the embroidery machine. The shafts are actuated via corresponding drives. To reduce the torsion as well as the torsional oscillation of long shafts which leads to a distortion of the movement of the embroidery tools and to a chronological phase displacement between the front and the rear portion of the machine, the drives for the needles and for the other embroidery tools are arranged approximately in the center of the embroidery machine.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1993Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Assignee: Saurer Sticksysteme AGInventors: Jurg Henz, Hans Abegglen, Manfred Zesch

Patent number: 5404823Abstract: Embroidery machine including several hundred embroidery locations each of which includes the following tools; a needle, a stiletto, a thread guide and a thread brake with respective drives. At least two actuators for connecting or disconnecting the tools from their respective drives are associated with every embroidery location. No more than one switching element, such as a shuttle spool valve is provided for each embroidery location which is switchable so as to switch all the actuators of said embroidery location jointly. Such a switching arrangement permits efficient switching of the tools enabling selective switching of only the tools of a switching point the embroidering/non-embroidering state of which is to be changed.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1993Date of Patent: April 11, 1995Assignee: Saurer Sticksysteme AGInventors: Hans Abegglen, Jurg Henz, Manfred Zesch

Patent number: 5383416Abstract: A device for clamping and cutting the rear or lower thread in an embroidering machine having a stitch plate with a stitch hole, a shuttle guide and a shuttle displaceably mounted in the shuttle guide. The clamping and cutting device which are arranged in the region of the stitch hole include a thread cutting device having a cutting blade and a thread clamping device having a thread clamping gap. The cutting device conveys the rear or lower thread into the clamping gap of the clamping device, where the thread is clamped before being cut. The cutting device does not take part in the clamping of said thread. Subsequent movements of the cutting device do not affect already clamped threads.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1992Date of Patent: January 24, 1995Assignee: Saurer SticksystemeInventors: Jurg Henz, Max Schreiber, Armin Kobler, Karl W.
