Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a friction element, the method comprising the steps of providing a back plate, the back plate having a connection surface comprising a plurality of protrusions; providing a sintering composition and applying the sintering composition to the connection surface and shaping the sintering composition to form an intermediary friction element; positioning the intermediary friction elements between a sintering plates; and simultaneously applying a pressure between the sintering plates, the pressure being in the range of 10 kg/cm2 to 200 kg/cm2; increasing the temperature to a sintering temperature in the range of 800° C. to 950° C., optionally by applying an electrical current between the sintering plates; and maintaining at least one of the applied pressure, the optionally applied electrical current and the sintering temperature for a sintering duration in the range of 1 hour to 10 hours to form a friction material on the back plate.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a screen golf device including a virtual game storage unit and a processing unit, wherein the virtual game storage unit stores data for virtual player characters of actual professional golfers and condition data of past golf games played by at least one of the actual professional golfers. When a user strikes a golf ball on a tee box with a golf club on a swing plate, the processing unit derives the trajectory of the golf ball based on golf ball sensing information obtained from a sensing unit sensing the movement of the golf ball, processes the virtual golf game between the virtual player character and the user based on the derived trajectory and the condition data of the past golf game, and displays the progress of the virtual golf game on a screen unit.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an apparatus for providing golf lessons including: a camera unit configured to photograph images of a golf ball hit by a user with a golf club; a memory configured to store golf lesson data according to ball flight patterns of the golf ball; and a processor for analyzing the images of the golf ball captured by the camera unit to derive the ball flight patterns, reading the golf lesson data according to the ball flight patterns from the memory, and providing the read golf lesson data to the user.

Abstract: In a method for controlling a drive motor of an actuator for actuating a valve, the power of the drive motor is supplied by pulse width modulated voltage controlled by a control frequency to adjust the actuator coupled to a valve into a desired position. The control frequency is changed such that a mixture of frequencies is produced. The control frequency is changed in steps. The frequencies of the mixture of frequencies are selected to be near the nominal control frequency. A drive motor of an actuator is provided that is controlled by the described method.

Abstract: Vehicle parking brake warning systems are disclosed herein. In one implementation, a vehicle parking brake warning system may include a relay coupled to an operator warning system. The relay including a relay switch and a coil, the relay switch conductively couple the operator warning system to ground when closed, and the coil to cause the relay switch to open when an electrical current is flowing through the coil, the coil coupled to a first coil node and a second coil node. A brake status switch that couples the first coil node to a voltage source when closed. A driver status switch that couples the second coil node to ground when closed. And a capacitor coupled to the first coil node and the second coil node.

Abstract: Circuits for providing to an operator warning interfaced system of a transportation vehicle a conductive path to ground or voltage source are described herein. The operator warning interface system, when provided a conductive path to ground or voltage source, may generate an audio and/or visual alert that indicates that the parking brake of the transportation vehicle is disengaged. The circuits may include at least one switch that when integrated into a safety and warning system of a transportation vehicle and when closed provides a conductive path to ground or voltage source to an operator warning interface system of the transportation vehicle, where the switch closes when the parking brake of the transportation vehicle is disengaged. In some implementations, the circuits may further include a second switch that must be closed in order to provide the conductive path to ground or voltage source. The second switch may close when the vehicle ignition is turned off.

Abstract: A scooter motor assembly for easily attaching and detaching from a scooter. The assembly may include a housing containing components such as a battery and an electric motor. An arm and attachment lever may be movably attached to the housing. The assembly may also include a motor support for attaching to the front of the scooter. The motor support may be configured to allow the housing to move in a vertical direction with respect to the scooter. The housing may be spring biased to allow contact with the scooter front wheel so that the motor assembly is adjustable and can be used with scooters having different sized front wheels. The housing may be easily attached and detached from the scooter by operating the release arm. Thus, the scooter may be used with or without the motor.

Abstract: A system and method for evaluating the thermal bond between a heat-producing device and a heat-absorbing apparatus. The heat-producing device may be a CPU, such as an INTEL PENTIUM microprocessor, and the heat-absorbing apparatus may be a heat sink. The two may be joined with a heat-conducting substance such as thermal grease or adhesive. In one exemplary embodiment, the heat-producing device is operated at a first power level, a first temperature measurement is then taken, the device is operated at a second power level, and then a second temperature measurement is then taken. The thermal resistance is then calculated, which may involve subtracting the second temperature from the first, and may involve dividing by the power level. The first power level may be full power, and the second power level may be near zero.
