Patents Assigned to Scan Coin AB
  • Patent number: 4995848
Abstract: In a coin sorter of the inclined ramp type the inclined ramp has the usual support surface (2) along which the edges of the coins roll, and the usual coin face support surface (3). The support surface (3) is provided both with apertures (6, 7, 8, 9) of progressively increasing size going down the ramp, for coins of the appropriate size to fall through, and with a set of peeler knives (14, 15, 16, 17) at varying distances from the edge support surface (2) for tipping other coins, according to their size, from the ramp. This arrangement facilitates a much shorter ramp, and thereby a more compact machine.

  • Patent number: 4943257
Abstract: Coin assorting device having a disc (12) mounted for rotation on a bottom plate (10) to pass below a coin supply tube (19). The rotation disc includes two pairs of recesses (16) for receiving a coin in each recess, the bottom plate having a discharge opening (20) for coins the diameter of which is less than a predetermined maximum diameter of the coin supplied. The discharge opening (20) extends beneath the mouth of the coin supply tube (19) and is shaped with an upper chamfered edge (24). Opposite sides of the wings (14) of the rotatable disc (12) are shaped in the form of blunt edges having a thickness which substantially corresponds to the thickness of the thinnest occurring coin.

  • Patent number: 4881918
Abstract: A high speed coin sorter of the belt type has an elongate plate (8') along which coins (12) to be sorted are carried in single file by a belt (1) which is driven by a pulley (2). A series of coin deflecting recesses (15 to 18) of hockey stick shape are formed in the upper surface (8) of the plate (8'), and in dependence upon the denomination of a coin, as determined by a coin discriminator (10, 11) positioned in advance of the recesses, the coins are selectively deflected from their straight line paths along the surface (8) by respective solenoid-actuated pins (19 to 22), such that a coin is pressed by the belt into the appropriate deflection recess corresponding to that coin denomination. A shaft encoder (4, 6) is associated with the belt drive pulley (2), and the signals from the encoder are used to track the progress of the coins along the surface (8) from the discriminator to provide a timing signal for projecting the appropriate deflection pin.

  • Patent number: 3948280
Abstract: A coin lifting device adapted to receive a large number of coins and to discharge these one by one, comprising a coin receptacle having a flexible rotary coin-lifting disc; a generally concave fixed support for the disc against the surface of which the disc rotates, assuming as it does so the general contour of the support; the support being arranged between vertical and horizontal positions so as to impart to the disc a steeper inclination to the horizontal in the upper part of the rotational path thereof than in the lower part thereof; and a plurality of coin carriers on the disc, displaceable between projecting and retracted positions by the rotation of the disc upon the support.
