Abstract: The exterior rearview mirror is comprised of a mirror housing, having at least one transparent light window, behind which at least one light is disposed, comprising at least one illuminant, whose light passes through the light window to the outside. In order provide the exterior rearview mirror so that different light functions and light directions can be performed by the light, at least a portion of the light is disposed adjustable.
Abstract: The exterior rearview mirror has a mirror head, which is provided with a mirror glass and with at least one illuminant, which radiates light through at least one light permeable section to the exterior. Furthermore, the exterior rearview mirror has a mirror base. In order to provide the exterior rearview mirror, so that the light function is performed in an optimum manner through the simple provision of the mirror, at least part of the housing of the mirror head and/or of the mirror base is comprised of at least two plastic layers, having different light permeability. In the light permeable section, the plastic layer with the lower light permeability is missing, or it only has such thickness, that the light emitted by the illuminant radiates to the exterior with sufficient light intensity. The plastic layer with higher light permeability can be used as a light pane for the illuminant disposed behind it.
Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor to detect contaminants and/or water with at least one transmission unit (12, 112) and at least one receiver unit (16, 116) as well as a test surface (22, 122) in which the deposit (30, 32) can be detected on the test surface (22, 122) by a light beam (24, 26; 124, 126) emitted by a transmission unit (12, 112) and received by the receiver unit (16, 116). The transmission unit (12, 112) emits at least two different wavelengths allocated to a common receiver (18, 118) of the receiver unit (16, 116).

Abstract: The invention relates to an exterior mirror of a vehicle with an opening facing rearward in assembled state, in a housing, with a cavity, into which a mirror can be received, and a forward facing rear wall, confining the cavity, with an exterior surface. At least two different light functions can be performed on the outer surface and/or the mirror, wherein the light functions comprise illuminants, which are grouped in one or several modules within the housing.

Abstract: Exterior rearview mirrors have mirror base, a mirror body, and a lighting unit with a lighting means. A lighting unit can be a repeating direction indicator lamp or, for example, a lamp for illuminating the surroundings. In order to enable the lighting unit to be easily mounted while requiring little mounting space, the lighting unit is part of an add-on element, which is physically separate from the exterior rearview mirror. The lighting unit with the lighting means can be easily produced and mounted. No mounting space is required inside the exterior rearview mirror. The lighting unit can be easily accessed for mounting. The exterior rearview mirror is used in motor vehicles.
