Abstract: The invention relates to a low beam headlight with at least one light module. The individual light module exhibits at least one light source and at least one primary lens connected downstream of the light source; and the light source is a luminescent diode. In addition, the low beam headlight has at least one secondary lens, which is connected optically downstream of the primary lens or the primary lenses. Both the primary and the secondary lens exhibit at least two lens segments, which are arranged one over the other. In addition, at least one lens segment of the primary lens and its assigned lens segment of the secondary lens lie outside the optical axis of the light module. The present invention develops a compact low beam headlight, whose light distribution has a clearly defined hot spot. The light intensity of the illumination decreases steadily in the direction of the basic distribution.

Abstract: 1. Headlight system for vehicles, preferably for motor vehicles 2.1 The headlight system has an adjustable headlight and a device to record the road layout. The device has an imaging sensor with an image processing device and a control device and sends signals [concerning] the images/data determined via the imaging sensors by means of the image processing device and to the control device to actuators or lamps of the headlight to change the direction of the emitting beam [sic]. 2.2 In order for any change in direction of the emitting beams to occur already before the change in direction, the image processing device generates a signal from the images/data determined by the imaging sensor, which permits prediction of the road layout and which is fed to the light control device. It sends signals to the actuators for an anticipatory direction change of the light beams of the headlight. 2.3 Such a headlight system is used in motor vehicles.

Abstract: The light has a housing and a light disc, behind which a lighting unit is provided. The lighting unit is divided into at least two separate light-permeable and distanced light windows, having the same or different lighting functions. A partially light impermeable area is provided between them. In order to embody the light such that its divided light windows are perceived as a continuous lighting area, embodied in a simple fashion and produced cost-effectively, at least one additional light impermeable area is provided in the light impermeable area. Thereby, in spite of the divided light window, a continuous light window is discernible for the observer, as required by the legislature, when both light windows fulfill the same lighting function. The light is suitable as a tail light of motor vehicles.

Abstract: A rearview mirror reflects ambient light and dims when light from headlights of a following motor vehicle is detected. Electrochromic mirror glass is fixedly secured to a frame within an opening. A sensor is fixedly secured to a housing for sensing ambient light and focused or glare light directed toward the rearview mirror. A light guide is disposed between the housing and the sensor for directing the ambient light and glare light outside the housing toward the sensor. The rearview mirror also includes a switching device for periodically disrupting the transmission of the light to identify a presence of the glare light, such that the sensor creates a dimming signal upon the identification of the presence of the glare light to dim the electrochromic mirror glass. The use of the switching device minimizes the number of sensors required by using the same sensor for measuring ambient light and glare light.
