Abstract: A passage barrier (10) with two barrier elements (24, 26) and two mutually aligned shafts (16, 20) which are separate from each other and can be driven by separate motors (14, 22), whereby one barrier element (24, 26) is retained on each shaft (16, 20), and can be swivelled independent of the other barrier element (26, 24) by driving the corresponding shaft (16, 20).

Abstract: The present invention relates to an entrance barrier comprising a barrier element movable between an open and a closed position, driving means, by which the barrier element can driven from one position to the other position respectively, a control unit, by which the driving means are controllable, and a sensor unit connected to the control unit. The invention also relates to a barrier element for the entrance barrier and to method for operating the entrance barrier. To provide a possibility of further improving the safety of persons in the area of entrance barriers beyond the mere passive safety of the entrance barrier, the invention proposes for the sensor unit to include a capacitive sensor.

Abstract: An apparatus for emptying a cashbox, fare-box or the like, wherein the apparatus includes a right-parallelepiped-shaped casing and a cashbox including at least one slidable wall, wherein the casing has a container for inserting the cashbox so that this is positioned with the slidable wall facing downwards on a slider located in the casing of the apparatus, wherein the slider includes: a handle, a connecting apparatus for connection with the wall of the cashbox, and a blocking apparatus which allows the slider to be withdrawn from the casing into a withdrawn end position and then pushed in into a fully inserted end position but prevents any pushing in of the slider from any withdrawn position which does not correspond to the end position.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for multi-application user media such as smart cards that can be used by users to obtain related benefits. Multiple applications of one type such as transportation may be implemented on user media from a standard or reference of that application type. Hierarchical networks and data structures may be provided in implementing user media. User media may include application identifiers, associated data groups, and data structures that are associated with the data groups. An application may be configured by different originators differently based on sets of defined data groups and/or data structures from which the originator may select in implementing the application. Multiple applications of different types such as financial, health, transportation, etc. may be configured on user media to provide related services.

Abstract: A self-filling storage device for memory cards has at least one storage container having a storage compartment. The storage compartment has a common opening for receiving and releasing memory cards. A cover plate for covering the common opening is provided. The cover plates has a first face facing the storage compartment and a second face facing away from the storage compartment. The cover plate is further provided with a cutout. At least one separating roller is positioned in the storage container at the second face and has a first position in which the separating roller projects through the cutout into the storage compartment against a return force. The separating roller acts on a memory card positioned in the storage compartment at the first face or acts on a memory card positioned at the second face for insertion into the storage compartment.

A motor is provided that drives an endless, flexible pulling element connected to the motor, and the motor and pulling element drive the carriage. Two guide pulleys are connected to opposite ends of the magazine support and the pulling element is guided about the guide pulleys.

Abstract: An arrangement including several cashier vending-type machines for goods and services. Each machine, in addition to having at least one cash box, also has not only several replaceable and preferably self-filling coin-storing units for returning or refunding money, but also has a computer that controls the machine, produces a balance, and is provided with a random access memory that is protected against the loss of power. To prevent deceitful manipulations by operators, and to enable a clear determination of error while precluding human error during use, without requiring additional work, each coin-storing unit is provided with an electronic memory that is protected against loss of data and that, upon insertion of that unit into a machine, stores a coding that identifies the machine.

Abstract: A vending-type machine for goods and/or services, and a method of operating the same. The machine has a computer that is connected via a data communication line with a central computer located in a central office. In order, despite the absence of an intermediate cash box for bills received during an interrupted payment process, to be able to protect against fraudulent refunds for equivalent values on vouchers issued by such machines, a plain language as well as machine-readable coded data entry is printed on the voucher, with this data entry, in addition to the value of the bill, also containing the location indication of the particular machine, and the actual date and time in seconds. This data entry is entered in a data-protected memory of the machine, and is entered via the data communication line in a data-protected memory of the central computer.

Abstract: A device for automatic cashiers, for example in vending machines, for the sale of goods or for dispensing services, for storing coins. The device has a slot for coins, a subsequently-arranged storage channel, a return slot, and a coin-collecting opening. A spiral spring for receiving respective coins between adjacent turns of the spring is disposed in the storage channel. The spring can be rotated at least one full turn in either direction by a motor. In order structurally to simplify and reduce the space required by such devices, which can be used either as intermediate storage devices or as remaining-money storage devices, the storage channel is constructed as a lateral guide for the spiral spring, and the return slot is offset relative to the money slot by at least one pitch of the spiral spring. The money slot is disposed on one side of the storage channel, and the return slot is disposed on the other side thereof.
