Abstract: Apparatus for cutting planar workpieces including a saw movable through a cutting stroke in a substantially horizontal direction with a first and a second table being provided on opposite sides of the saw. The planar workpieces are first fed from the first table onto the second table through a first cutting operation and the cut parts are rotated relative to the saw on the second table and then fed through a second cutting operation back onto the first table. A pusher device is provided on the second table for feeding the planar cut parts and a feeding device on the first table operates to selectively feed planar strips from the first table to the second table. The first table is provided with two sets of rollers capable of conveying planar parts in two transverse directions with the sets of rollers being vertically displaceable relative to each other.
Abstract: A sawing machine having a first and a second saw with cutting planes generally perpendicular to each other includes a mechanism for conveying cut planar workpieces from one saw to the other. The mechanism includes a plurality of rows of rollers located adjacent each other and spaced apart with a grate mechanism having grate elements extending between the rows of rollers being movable to transport cut workpieces from a support table of the first saw to the roller rows. A gap formed between the work table of the first saw and the roller rows enables trim waste to fall from the support table, and the grate mechanism is pivotally mounted for reciprocal movement between the support table and the roller rows during which it bridges the gap therebetween.
Abstract: A system for cutting generally planar quadrilateral workpieces into a plurality of quadrilateral elements, at least a portion of which have both their length and width dimensions smaller than the overall length and width dimensions of the original workpiece wherein cuts extending completely across the workpiece parallel to one of the length and the width dimensions thereof are first effected by a first saw with the cut pieces being then conveyed to a third saw where cuts completely thereacross may be made in directions perpendicular to the one dimension. The remainder of the workpiece is conveyed to a second saw where cuts are made in directions parallel to the other of the length and width dimensions with the cut portions of the workpiece remainder being subsequently conveyed to the third saw for effecting cuts in the cut portions in directions parallel to the one dimension.
