Abstract: A thermo-forming foil or plate made of a thermoplastic elastomer for the production of dental splints. To integrate reinforcements for various applications into individual areas of the splint, the thermo-forming foil or plate is made of segments comprised of different materials and lying side by side in the plane of the thermo-forming foil or plate, these materials having different Shore hardness.

Abstract: A mechanism for applying a positioning force between upper and lower jawbone, and including an outer telescopic element and an inner telescopic element displaceable within the outer telescopic element, with the outer and inner telescopic elements having each an eyelet for connection to a teeth brace, and with an arrangement which prevents the inner telescopic element from being pull-out of the outer telescopic element.

Abstract: A control of the adhesive layer is to be achieved with a process and a device for removal of brackets or other metallic dental objects serving for orthodontic treatment which have been glued onto dental enamel wherein the layer of glue between the bracket or the object and the dental enamel is to be reduced in its adhesiveness by heating, wherein the tooth of the patient is effectively protected in such a way that a heating of the tooth itself cannot even occur. This is achieved in that the heating is performed by direct electrical resistance heating.

Abstract: An orthodontic bracket assembly including brackets mounted upon teeth to ect orthodontic treatment thereof is provided with a self adhesive layer adhered on one side thereof to the surface of the orthodontic bracket which is used to fasten the bracket upon a tooth. A protective foil is arranged to extend on one side of bracket wings formed upon the orthodontic bracket and defining a slot adapted to receive therein a regulating arch when the brackets are mounted upon teeth to be treated. The protective foil defines a gap or spacing within which the base of the orthodontic bracket extends and within which liquid adhesive may be introduced for attaching the bracket to the teeth to be treated.

Abstract: Orthodontic brackets are fitted to teeth to be treated by making a first positive jaw model from which the model teeth are replaceably removable. The model teeth are subsequently placed into a second jaw model containing pliable material which enables the teeth to be displaced into a desired predetermined orientation, which is the orientation ultimately desired for the teeth to be treated. With the model teeth in this orientation, brackets are fitted to the model teeth and utilizing procedures which involve making a negative mold of the model teeth with the attached brackets, the brackets are ultimately attached to the teeth to be treated so that an orthodontic alignment wire may be applied to the teeth by engagement with the attached brackets.Apparatus for attaching the brackets to the model teeth includes a support structure for holding a jaw model containing the teeth and a curved alignment table extending at least partially about the jaw holder.
