  • Patent number: 4713944
Abstract: Intermittently operating sorption head and cold storage apparatus having a storage vessel forming a first structural unit. The storage vessel comprises a gas-tight housing and a solid sorption agent which can be heated by a heating medium and is thermally conductively in communication with a heat-eliminating heat-exchange fluid by a first heat-exchanger. The apparatus also has a second heat-exchanger defining at least one of an evaporator and a condenser forming a second structural unit and having a pressure-resistant housing. This unit is thermally conductively in communication by a second heat-exchange device with a heat-exchange fluid capable of eliminating heat in the condensation phase or suppling heat in the evaporation phase. The apparatus also has a pressure-resistant external flow connection for a working medium carried in a closed system between the two structural units.

  • Patent number: 4581049
Abstract: Solid absorber apparatus for a discontinuously operable, cyclic absorption process comprising a housing; a solid absorber material provided in a plurality of juxtaposed chamber-like zones within the housing, the zones each having, in transverse cross-section, four sides which extend longitudinally within the housing, heat exchange means disposed along at least a portion of each of at least two but less than four sides of each of the zones whereby the zones are at least partially defined and separated from one another, and extending longitudinally within the housing, and adapted to carry alternatingly cooling and heating heat exchange medium so that at least a major portion of the heat flow between the absorber material and the respective heat exchange medium takes place across the sides of each of the zones; and a single vapor region defined within and extending longitudinally within the housing, being chargeable with a coolant vapor, being alternatively connectable with a condensor and an evaporator, and com

  • Patent number: 4545293
Abstract: A multiple-casing chimney with at least one smoke-carrying inner tube, one heat insulating layer surrounding the inner tube, and one jacket supporting the latter's outside. To prevent moisture saturation or tarring, the invention provides that flow paths for a venting gas supplied from the outside and discharged to the outside be provided within the base material of at least one casing (2, 4) surrounded by the jacket (6) and/or on at least one boundary between adjacent casings (2, 4, 6) between boundary surfaces formed by their respective base materials and be distributed over the circumference.

  • Patent number: 4518513
Abstract: The pasty damping medium is used to damp mechanical and/or acoustic osciallations. The agent contains as a minimum compound a solid finely divided substance or a mixture of solid finely divided substances, as a liquid phase, a silicone oil, a polyglycol, a mineral oil and/or a saturated aliphatic or aromatic aliphatic carboxylic acid ester, an agent for increasing the interfacial surface activity or a surfactant, a finely divided magnesium and/or aluminium silicate and/or a silicon dioxide finely divided as a viscosity stabilizer and possibly a small quantity of an antioxidant. The invention concerns also a method for producing the pasty damping medium and the use of the pasty damping medium in different hydraulic damping devices or for industrial shock absorber or industrial vibration damper.
