The sealing device includes: (a) a flexible sealing element (20) by means of which an inner pass-through ring element (40) is connected with the edge of the aperture (120); (b) at least two coupling elements that are attached to the pass-through ring element (40) and (c) at least one locking element that is connected with the robot hand (216) and that may be positioned by means of positioning elements for coupling of the robot hand (216) with the pass-through ring element (40) by means of the coupling elements.

    Abstract: An ancillary device with at least one rotating workpiece holder for removing abrasive from externally accessible cavities inside such large workpiece as engine blocks, transmission housings, etc. once they have been sand blasted in a centrifugal-jet system. The device has a shaft (4) that has the workpiece holder (3) extending out of its outer end and that rotates along with the workpiece holder about a single horizontal axis. The device also has a rotary drive mechanism (7) that has a horizontal axis of rotation. The inner end of the shaft is secured to the drive mechanism by way of a transmission, causing the shaft to rotate or pivot about its axis. The device can also have at least two shafts (4 & 5) with workpiece holders (3 & 6) mounted symmetrically on the rotary drive mechanism.

    Abstract: Abrasive method for the removal of coatings, such as paint, decorative films, overlays and the like from plastic surfaces, especially plastic laminates. The method operates by utilizing an impeller wheel which is movable at a substantially constant distance relative to the surface of a workpiece. A stream of abrasive particles is directed against the surface, and consists of sharp-edge steel-elastic plastic granules which impact with a velocity between 25 and 100 m/s. The impeller is guided steadily in several passes over all surface areas to be treated. After each pass a visual inspection is performed. Preferably the granules have a hardness of 3-3.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.

    Abstract: An apparatus for the uniform proportioning of granular blasting agents in pneumatically operating blasting machines is disclosed in which the blasting agent supply is in a closed hopper with a blasting agent feed controlled with regard to the amount of agent fed per unit of time. A screw conveyor screw disposed in a horizontal screw conveyor tube having an entry area adjacent to the discharge area, which is in turn adjacent to a removal duct of the conveyor screw tube has substantially the same cross section diameter value of a blast-air duct. The blast-air duct forms a tee with the screw tube in the discharge area. To compensate for the pressure drop in the device during its operation, a connecting duct is provided between the blast-air duct and the closed hopper. The branching of the connecting duct to the blast-air duct lies upstream from the entrance to the screw conveyor tube.

The apparatus has a bucket (2) which can be moved parallel to the surface of the object, in which a sandblast aimed against the surface of the object (30) can be produced, and in which sandblasting grits rebounding from the work surface together with the removed dirt particles are caught and carried away. The apparatus is provided with a sealed cabin (1) for carrying an operator (2), which is equipped with viewing windows, and which forms with the sandblasting chamber (5) a mobile working unit (4). The bucket (3) is disposed on the outside of the cabin (1) for movement relative to the cabin surface.

    Abstract: A method for the removal of carbonizable, adherent coatings from the surfaces of metal parts, in which the metal parts are baked or pyrolyzed in the course of the method. The metal parts are brought to the carbonizing temperature in a substantially closed retort. Without leaving the retort, the adherent, carbonized coating is blasted off by means of heated blasting medium as the carbonization proceeds or after it ends. The heating of the metal parts is performed in a fluidized bed within the retort. The medium of the fluidized bed is simultaneously the blasting medium.
