Abstract: A liner top packer is configured to be secured in a liner string, such as in a liner drilling operation. The packer is actuated from within the liner or packer body. An actuator assembly includes an inner piston, an actuator housing, and an outer piston. A tubular setting tool is moved upwardly through the inner piston, and dogs on the setting tool allow for force to be applied to the inner piston, pressurizing fluid and forcing it to the outer piston to compress a pack off element. The actuator assembly is removed by upward force applied by a foot of the setting tool on the inner piston, the actuator housing, or any other component of the actuator assembly.
Abstract: An apparatus for use in a wellbore includes a tool string and a plurality of sensors, which include at least a first sensor to detect pressure signals in an inner conduit of the tool string and at least a second sensor to detect pressure signals in an annulus outside the tool string. A controller actuates a tool in the tool string in response to a logical combination of outputs from the sensors, where the outputs of the sensors are responsive to the respective pressure signals.

Abstract: An example method for real-time bi-directional data management includes receiving a requested data list from a field application, receiving an available data list from a data source, and subscribing to available data by mapping the available data list to the requested data list, the available data having a first data format and a first protocol and including a first context identifier for identifying a portion of data. The method further includes modifying the available data have a second data format and a second protocol, the modified data including the first context identifier, and performing a field operation based on the modified data to generate processed data, the processed data including the first context identifier. The method further includes modifying the processed data to generate second modified data having the first data format and the first protocol, the second modified data being stored in the data source.
