Abstract: An opto-electrical cable may include an opto-electrical cable core and a polymer layer surrounding the opto-electrical cable core. The opto-electrical cable core may include a wire, one or more channels extending longitudinally along the wire, and one or more optical fibers extending within each channel. The opto-electrical cable may be made by a method that includes providing a wire having a channel, providing optical fibers within the channel to form an opto-electrical cable core, and applying a polymer layer around the opto-electrical cable core. A multi-component cable may include one or more electrical conductor cables and one or more opto-electrical cables arranged in a coax, triad, quad configuration, or hepta configuration. Deformable polymer may surround the opto-electrical cables and electrical conductor cables.

Abstract: A method for performing a field operation of a field. The method includes obtaining historical parameter values of a runtime parameter and historical core datasets, where the historical parameter values and the historical core datasets are used for a first simulation of the field, and where each historical parameter value results in a simulation convergence during the first simulation, generating a machine learning model based at least on the historical core datasets and the historical parameter values, obtaining, during a second simulation of the field, a current core dataset, generating, using the machine learning model and based on the current core dataset, a predicted parameter value of the runtime parameter for achieving the simulation convergence during the second simulation, and completing, using at least the predicted parameter value, the second simulation to generate a modeling result of the field.
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computing system for receiving downhole logging data for a porous media. A pore size distribution index may be estimated based upon, at least in part, nuclear magnetic resonance data (NMR) from the downhole logging data of the porous media. A relative permeability and capillary pressure curve may be generated with a feasible region of solutions based upon, at least in part, the pore size distribution index.
Abstract: A visualization request to visualize data is received. System parameters responsive to the visualization request are obtained. Predicted performance metrics are generated with a machine learning model using the system parameters. A workload server is obtained using a workload server profile selected using the predicted performance metrics, the workload server executing a visualization workload to generate a visualization. The visualization of the data is streamed, from the workload server to the client device, responsive to the visualization request.
Abstract: A presence of cement may be identified based on a downhole tool that may emit neutrons into a wellbore having at least one cement casing. The neutrons may interact with the particular material via inelastic scattering, inelastic neutron reactions, capture of neutrons and/or neutron activation through one of these reactions and cause a material to emit an energy spectrum of gamma rays, and wherein the downhole tool is configured to detect an energy spectrum of the gamma rays that is specific to at least one of a plurality of elements and associated a region within the wellbore. An amount of elements, such as calcium and silicon, may be determined from the gamma ray spectra that may indicate a present of cement within the wellbore.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to calibrate a resistivity measurement taken by a downhole tool in a borehole, wherein the downhole tool estimates the resistivity of an underground formation penetrated by the borehole with at least one sensor situated at a non-zero standoff distance from the borehole, is provided. The method includes taking apparent impedance measurements with the sensor at a set of frequencies and at a first plurality of locations in the borehole, wherein the measurement are uncalibrated measurements. The method also includes identifying a portion of the borehole in which the apparent impedance measurements at least at a first frequency of the set have a predetermined behavior. The predetermined behavior is that the apparent impedance measurements taken in the portion are substantially fitting a linear model when represented in the complex plane.
Abstract: Land seismic survey including providing at least two vibrators in a first group, wherein each vibrator in the first group is assigned to a respective source line, where the source lines of the first group run substantially parallel to one another; providing at least two vibrators in a second group, wherein each vibrator in the second group is assigned to a respective source line that is different than the source lines assigned to vibrators from the first group; actuating the vibrators in the first group simultaneously using different frequency bandwidth sweeps and different phase encodings; actuating the vibrators in the second group at the same time as those in the first group, and simultaneously using different frequency bandwidth sweeps and different phase encodings; and detecting the resulting seismic signals with a plurality of seismic sensors that are placed in contact with the earth and as part of a seismic spread.

The extension members of the plurality of extension members are controllable to enable controlled positioning of the well tool within the borehole. The extension members may be actuated to centralize the well tool along a desired borehole axis.

A method for operating a top drive by applying a first torque to a quill with two traction motors, disconnecting one of the traction motors from the quill, and applying a second torque less than the first torque to the quill with the non-disconnected traction motor.

Abstract: Stimulation treatments are designed and performed in a manner that takes into account radial acid flow into the formation. A reservoir core plug is selected and a liner core flow test is performed. The core flow test comprises measuring a flowing fraction, injecting into the core plug a treatment volume of at least one candidate stimulation fluid at an injection rate at reservoir conditions, and measuring an effective reaction rate constant. The linear flow data are then scaled to radial flow. A skin, an acid concentration at a wormhole tip and a fluid velocity at a wormhole tip are calculated. A stimulation treatment is then performed. The method can also be performed on analog cores. The stimulation treatment may be matrix acidizing, fracture acidizing or acidizing natural fractures.
Abstract: The disclosure provides for methods of making electrically conductive apparatus, such as circuit boards. The methods include 3D-printing a ceramic material into a ceramic substrate that includes a void. A conductive material is infused into the void. The conductive materiel forms electrically conductive connections within the apparatus. Also disclosed are apparatus formed by the methods.

Abstract: A method for making calibrated directional electromagnetic logging measurements includes causing an electromagnetic logging tool to make a plurality of voltage measurements while deployed in a subterranean wellbore. A ratio of currents in first and second electromagnetic transmitters is computed and a ratio of gains in first and second electromagnetic receivers is computed. A ratio of selected ones of the measured voltages is processed in combination with the ratio of currents, the ratio of gains, and a test loop calibration coefficient to compute the calibrated directional electromagnetic logging measurement.
