Patents Assigned to Schluter-Systems GmbH
  • Patent number: 6357192
Abstract: A bridge device for providing a transition between two bordering floor segments of different levels includes a securement shank, a terminal shank and a transition shank. The securement shank is positionable under one of the bordering floor segments which are separated by a space. The terminal shank has spaced upper and lower ends and opposite sides extending between the upper and lower ends. The terminal shank is attached at the lower end to the securement shank and is positionable in the space between the floor segments. One side of the terminal shank is disposed adjacent to and faces toward the one floor segment whereas the other side of the terminal shank faces toward the other floor segment.

  • Patent number: 6094878
Abstract: A composite floor structure comprises a mortar layer set by a mineral agent and a carrier plate adjoining the lower surface of the mortar layer. The carrier plate has upwardly projecting structural members extending into the mortar. The dimensions of the mortar coating over the structural members are so low that the structures created in the mortar by the structural members represent weak areas. When stresses arise in the mortar layer, joint face assemblies connecting weak areas are formed to reduce stress in a uniform manner. By forming different joint face assemblies, a joint face structure is produced, wherein to reduce stress, the stress causing the mortar to fracture only results in a low level of longitudinal change in each individual joint face. Consequently, each individual joint face only takes the form of a microcrack.

  • Patent number: 5960591
Abstract: A system for securing guttering to ends of balconies or terraces essentially consists of a supporting section and a gutter. Securing means are allocated to the supporting section and securing means are allocated to the gutter. Both securing means are arranged to act together to secure the gutter to the supporting section. The securing means for the supporting section consist of a support and a locking edge. The support acts as a counter-member for a suspension arm allocated to the gutter. Said suspension arm is a part of a hook-shaped suspension section. The gutter is secured to the supporting section by a bearing component which bears on the supporting arm of the supporting section and a securing member engaging behind the locking edge.

  • Patent number: 5868399
Abstract: A sealing web is useful for installation in the joint areas of floors or walls, to which layers of plaster, tiles or boards may be applied with an adhesive, especially if layers or coverings are produced in connection with the sealing of the floor or wall surface. The sealing web includes a stretchable plastic sheet having an uncovered center section located between two marginal sections which are coated with fiber material.

  • Patent number: 5333432
Abstract: A device for forming an expansion joint in a floor covered with ceramic tiles includes a first plastic angle floor section to be secured onto the floor and formed by a fastening leg and terminating leg, and a second plastic wall section shaped like a strip with interlocking elements on its outer side. Both sections are connected by an upper soft plastic bridge simultaneously covering the respective section segments from the top. In the lower portion of the device, there is a bridge which is a predetermined tearing bridge or support bridge bonded only on one side. The device serves for forming an expansion joint in the transition zone which connects and bridges a wall to a floor covered with ceramic tiles.

  • Patent number: 5289663
Abstract: A floor molding forming a transition at a corner between a floor and a wall disposed at a right angle to the floor. The floor and wall are both tiled with each tile having a bottom surface, side edges and a top surface. A wall bracket is secured between the wall and the wall tiles, including a leg disposed adjacent to the side edge of the wall tile facing the corner. A floor bracket is secured between the floor and the floor tiles at a distance from the wall bracket forming a gap therebetween. The floor bracket has an L-shaped member including a leg disposed adjacent to the side edge of the floor tile facing the corner. The L-shaped member also includes an arm connected to the leg disposed adjacent to the top surface of the floor tile. An elastic plastic bridge is coupled between the wall bracket leg and the floor bracket L-shaped member across the gap.

  • Patent number: 5243799
Abstract: A device for forming a connecting transition bridge expansion joint between two surfaces having hard coverings abutting one another at right angles is located between a wall and the floor, where the surfaces are preferably covered with ceramic tiles. The bridge device includes a plastic wall angle section to be secured onto the wall. The wall angle section includes a cross-sectional, approximately Z-shaped plastic angle section to be secured onto the wall and has an elastically linked wall-connecting leg. The wall-connecting leg is displaceably received in a pocket which is formed within the plastic floor angle section securable onto the floor. An angular bend is molded onto the inner leg of the floor pocket receiving the wall-connecting leg. The angular bend forms an additional cavity for receiving the edges of the abutting ceramic tiles.
