Patent number: 7536835Abstract: A floor construction covered with ceramic tiles, in which a film-like plastic mat having support elements disposed in a uniform area distribution, hollow towards the underside, capable of support, projecting out beyond the top of the mat, is applied on the sub-floor. Channels carrying open water are formed between the support elements, and a water-permeable or vapor-permeable covering in the manner of a non-woven fabric or woven fabric is disposed on the support elements. The plastic mat is embedded and attached, supported in a still soft, hardening thin-bed mortar layer on the sub-floor, over its full area, in the region of its lower contact surfaces. The ceramic tiles are laid and attached on the covering in the manner of a non-woven fabric, directly, with a thin-bed mortar layer.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2006Date of Patent: May 26, 2009Assignee: Schlüter-Systems KGInventor: Werner Schlüter

Patent number: 6434901Abstract: The invention relates to a support and/or drainage plate made of a foil-like plastic material, for use with a plate-lined floor structure or a wall so as to create a space between the ground and the surface lining to be applied onto the foil-like plate. The structure of the plate is such that cavities are created by means of, on the one side, projections extending substantially in one direction and, on the other side, raised areas at the same level between which chambers are embodied for receiving a hardening contact medium, such as mortar or adhesive, which forms a contact layer with the surface lining to be applied. According to the invention the structure consists of projections (N1, N2) or (S1, S2) which extend in at least two directions and intersect. The resulting chambers (M1) are delimited in their circumference by the projections (S1, S2), which are open towards the other side of the plate.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2000Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Schlüter-Systems KGInventor: Werner Schlüter

Publication number: 20020059764Abstract: A device for bridging expansion joints (7) which separate adjacent surfaces in walls or floors (6) of buildings is provided. The device comprises two anchoring profiles or members (1) having an approximately L-shaped cross section. Each anchoring profile comprises a fastening leg (11) and a terminating leg (12) disposed perpendicular to the fastening leg. Each anchoring profile also has a bridging profile or member (2 and 3, respectively) hinged on the terminating leg (12). The bridging profiles engage one another in a sliding, form-locking manner. In this connection, one leg (33) of a bridging profile (3) is provided with protruding elements (36) spaced from each other at least on the end engaging the other bridging profile (2). Means (4) are also provided for securing the two bridging profiles (2 and 3) engaging one another into an installed position.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2001Publication date: May 23, 2002Applicant: Schluter-Systems KGInventor: Werner Schluter

Publication number: 20010017015Abstract: A device for forming expansion joints between sections of covered floor or wall areas comprises two angle sections slidingly engaging each other parallel with the floor or wall surfaces. A first angle section comprises a fastening leg and a vertically-extending terminating leg. There are two legs on the terminating leg forming an outwardly-directed pocket. The pocket-forming legs are slidingly engaged by a sliding leg of the second angle section. The sliding leg extends from the top of the terminating leg of the second angle section, the terminating leg being molded on a fastening leg as well. The terminating leg of the first angle section has an approximately “S” shape, in which the upper part of the terminating leg forms the pocket-forming legs for receiving the sliding leg. The lower part of the terminating leg forms a chamber for receiving mortar.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2001Publication date: August 30, 2001Applicant: Schluter-Systems KGInventor: Werner Schluter

Patent number: 6238773Abstract: The invention relates to an angular profiled shape (3) designed to be glued to a surface for finishing the edges of set ceramic tiles (5,6) or similar items. Said profiled shape comprises a first perforated leg (31) and a second leg (33) joined to the first leg at an angle. On said second leg distancing means are embodied pointing in the direction of the adjoining ceramic tile (5,6) which determine the visible joint width (B) between the outer leg (35) and said adjoining ceramic tile (5,6). To this end, a chamber open only to one side is embodied, together with the thickened area (34) forming the distancing means (36), at the free end of the leg (35) in the direction of the side of the ceramic tile whose edge is to be finished.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1999Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Assignee: Schlüter-Systems KGInventor: Werner Schlüter
