Patent number: 9797636Abstract: A plate apparatus suitable for heat and/or material exchange has plates (P0, P1, P2, P3) contacting each other flush along a peripheral seal (1) while forming respective intermediate spaces (Z0, Z1, Z2, Z3) and having upper (2, 3) and lower (4, 5) through-flow openings for fluids. A group of these upper and lower through-flow openings (2, 5) is allocated to at least two fluids and is connected by correspondingly placed seals to every second plate intermediate space (Z1, Z3) carrying a flow from top to bottom. In flush upper through-flow openings (2) of plates (P0, P1, P2, P3) a distribution lance (6) runs across these openings and has outlet openings (6a) for at least one of the fluids. It is essential that the outlet openings (6a) are directed into those plate intermediate spaces (Z0, Z2) arranged between the second plate intermediate spaces (Z1, Z3) for the fluids to be mixed.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2015Date of Patent: October 24, 2017Assignee: API Schmidt-Bretten GmbH & Co. Publication number: 20150168085Abstract: Plate heat exchanger consisting of a plate stack (2) and a housing (1) surrounding the plate stack, wherein the plates (2a) are connected with one another in the plate stack (2) in such a manner that a first and at least one further medium can flow alternately through adjacent plate interstices, and the one medium can be conducted to and away from the plate stack (2) by way of through-flow channels that run in the stack direction, while the other medium can be conducted to and away from the plate interstices assigned to it by way of an interstice between housing (1) and plate stack (2) on the outer circumference. It is essential, in this connection, that the following combination of materials is present: The plates (2a) of the plate stack (2) consist, in known manner, of corrosion-resistant material, whereas the housing (1) consists of a non-corrosion-resistant material that has an enamel coating on its inner side, which is impacted by medium.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2013Publication date: June 18, 2015Applicant: API Schmidt-Bretten GmbH & Co. Patent number: 8770268Abstract: A heat exchanger plate (3a) for a plate-type heat exchanger having throughflow openings (4-7), which are arranged adjacent to one another in the plane of the plate, for fluid media is provided. The heat exchanger plate (3a) is formed from a first material, in particular steel or high-grade steel, and those surfaces (18a, 19a, 20a) of the heat exchanger plate (3a) which come into contact with one of the fluid media are formed from, or lined, with another material which is in particular more corrosion resistant than the first material.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2009Date of Patent: July 8, 2014Assignee: API Schmidt-Bretten GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Friedrich Schenker, Volker Wagner

Patent number: 7055588Abstract: A heat transfer plate is provided for a plate heat exchanger, the plate having a heat transfer area and peripheral openings for the heat transfer media, namely a product to be at least partially evaporated or condensed on the one hand and a heating or cooling medium on the other hand. A first group of the openings is allocated to one medium and to one side of the plate, and a second group of the openings is allocated to the other medium and the other side of the plate by appropriately placed seals. The group of openings allocated to the product to be evaporated comprises a plurality of adjacent inlet openings on the inlet side of the plate, the inlet openings ending directly in the heat transfer area of the plate at approximately a right angle to the adjacent plate edge.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2004Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignee: API Schmidt-Bretten GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5727620Abstract: The seal (3) is provided with a plurality of laterally projecting attachment portions (14, 20, 814, 30, 31), located at longitudinally spaced positions along the seal. The rim (R) of the plate is formed with a plurality of recesses (19, 21, 33, 34) which extend laterally from the groove (10) in a direction essentially perpendicular to the groove at the locations of the attachment portions. The recesses, formed as cuts from the edge (15) (15') of the rim (R, R') are open to the terminal edge of the rim (R), so that, for placement or replacement of the seal, the seal, or seal portions, e.g., after loosening from the groove (10), can be readily slid outwardly of the groove by gripping the attachment portions. The seal (3) and the attachment portions are protected by the portion of the rim (R, R') extending beyond the recesses.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1995Date of Patent: March 17, 1998Assignee: Schmidt-Bretten GmbHInventors: Gunter Schaufele, Zhangeng Guo

Patent number: 5193612Abstract: A heat exchanger using a stack of plates with sealed flow spaces between them utilizes a multiplicity of plates that fit flush together at their perimeters and are provided with profiling by stamping. They are essentially the same in shape and are alternately rotated, in the planes of the respective plates, by 180.degree. with respect to each other for stacking. Before they are compressed into a stack, sealing profile members are inserted which fit into grooves for providing a perimeter seal. The flow spaces between the plates serve alternately for a first and a second fluid medium, which are guided in parallel counter-current through the stack, passing through perforations in the corners of the plates. At least part of the plates are thus releasably stacked with removable sealing profile members. The removable perimeter seals between plates are constituted as multiple seals having at least two profile members at a substantially constant distance from each other.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1991Date of Patent: March 16, 1993Assignee: W.
