Abstract: The invention relates to a method for recording sound signals of one or more sound sources located in a recording space and having time-variable directional characteristics and for reproducing the sound signals and directional information of the sound sources true to life in an area of reproduction. The invention also relates to a system for carrying out the method. In order to be able to record, transmit and reproduce the directional information of a sound source in real time, only the main direction of emission of the sound signal emitted by the sound source is detected in the recording space in a time-dependent manner and reproduction is carried out depending on the detected main direction of emission. In order to convey the directional information, the sound signals are reproduced by means of a first reproduction unit associated with the sound source and at least one second reproduction unit spaced apart from the first reproduction unit.
