Patent number: 5016764Abstract: Merchandise display unit including vertical parallel panels arranged in side by side facing relation along a lateral display area, such that the panels extend crosswise thereof and the facing sides of a given pair of adjacent panels define a display space therebetween, each facing side having a lattice of side by side vertical rows of horizontal tiers of panel joint formations, e.g. grooves, correspondingly arranged for coaction with those of the lattice of the other facing side to form a plurality of facing cooperating pairs of panel joint formations in the display space, and crossbars for mounting merchandise display elements thereon in a given display space, the crossbar ends having an opposed pair of crossbar joint formations, e.g. tongues, mating with each facing cooperating pair of panel joint formations to form opposed joints. A crossbar can be mounted between adjacent panels at the location of any facing cooperating pair of panel joint formations thereon and will interlock the panels via the joints.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1989Date of Patent: May 21, 1991Assignee: Scholl, Inc.Inventor: Jamie D. Patent number: 4642912Abstract: A shoe insole having superior cushioning and comfort, good resistance to buckling, and excellent retention of cushioning properties after wear. The insole consists of three layers:(a) a bottom layer having compressive strength of at least 0.3 kg/cm.sup.2 at 40% strain,(b) an intermediate layer having less compressive strength at 40% strain than the bottom layer, and(c) a top layer constructed of fabric. The three layers are laminated together and shaped to fit inside of an article of footwear.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1984Date of Patent: February 17, 1987Assignee: Scholl, Inc.Inventors: Gary C. Patent number: 4453322Abstract: A sandal is provided with an inside arch and ankle stabilizing flange which forms an integral part of a one-piece molded bottom without a separate inner sole. The flange is smoothly curved and extends upward along the arch side for a longitudinal length from a point adjacent the side of the ankle stabilizes the ankle joint by preventing it from rolling inward toward the walking surface thereby providing an unusually high degree of security for an open shoe. The footbed of the molded bottom conforms to the plantar surface of the normal foot while walking or at rest. Both the bottom footbed and the upper pattern including the inner longitudinal arch flange are designed to allow for the anatomical and functional differences between the inside and outside longitudinal arch areas of the normal foot, and act to discourage the tipping of the ankle toward the inside of the foot, resulting in pronation.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1982Date of Patent: June 12, 1984Assignee: Scholl, Inc.Inventor: Marion Marsh

Patent number: 4268980Abstract: A shock absorbing, relatively rigid but resilient slab for insertion in footwear as an insole or for being built integrally into the sole of footwear, extends across the shoe width and lengthwise from the outer rear border of the heel to the metatarsal heads of the foot of the wearer, has a smooth top surface with a heel concavity and a varus heel ridge extending transversely from the lateral to the medial side and inclined upward to a high level at the medial side and then continuing medially to the rear end of the heel cup and with a bottom having a solid lateral edge mitigating shock at the initial heel contact and from which radiate circumferentially in a clockwise direction around the heel for an arc of about 30.degree.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1978Date of Patent: May 26, 1981Assignee: Scholl, Inc.Inventor: Charles J.
