Abstract: A lighting fixture includes a first support having at least a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, a first plurality of ornaments such as crystals attached to the first surface of the first support, and an opaque frame disposed around the first support. The opaque frame has a first opening through which the plurality of ornaments are observable. At least one light source is disposed in the frame for directing light onto at least some of the first plurality of ornaments which light is at least one of refracted and reflected from the first plurality of ornaments.

Abstract: Light fixtures, lighting methods, and devices for mounting ornaments are provided. The light fixtures and methods overcome the limitations of the prior art by permitting electrical power transmission to the light sources, such as, LEDs, through the light fixture suspension elements. The light fixtures include a first ring suspended by a plurality of first cords; and a second ring suspended by a plurality of second cords from the first ring; wherein at least one of the first ring and the second ring comprises a plurality of light sources; and wherein at least one of the plurality of first cords and at least one of the plurality of the second cords are adapted to transmit electrical power to the plurality of light sources. Methods of mounting light sources and ornament mounting arrangements are also disclosed.

Abstract: An ornamental fixture includes a monolithic frame member having a plurality of integral bendable members, and a plurality of ornaments supported on the integral bendable members. The plurality of generally bendable members has a first portion and a second portion. At least a portion of the first portion is bent so that the second portion forms a post receivable in a first opening of a passageway within the ornament, and forms a distal portion extending from a second opening out of the passageway of the ornament. The distal portion is bent to inhibit movement of the ornaments off of the post.

Abstract: Light fixtures, methods for displaying light, and light fixture housings having enhanced appearance and providing distinctive light patterns are provided. The light fixture includes a light source, and a housing mounted about the light source. The housing includes a body, for example, a transparent glass body, having an outer surface having a plurality of facets adapted to refract at least some light emitted by the light source; and an opening in the body to emit light. Dimensions of the housing body are defined to produce substantially uniform light patterns on surfaces adjacent the light fixture. Methods of displaying light and faceted light housings are also disclosed.

The ornaments may be glass crystal ornaments, for example, octagonal glass crystals, and a light may be mounted within the fixture. The support structure may include an upper support ring and at least one lower support ring vertically spaced from the upper support ring and a plurality of arcuate sector assemblies removably mounted to the upper support ring and the at least one lower support ring. The sector assemblies retain the ornaments to provide a substantially continuous 360-degree array of ornaments. The sector assemblies can also be disassembled from the support structure for maintenance, servicing, relamping, and cleaning of the fixture. For example, the disassembled components of the fixture may be washed in a dishwasher without damaging the ornaments or the support structure.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for retaining an ornament, for example, an ornamental crystal, on a frame or plate is provided. The method includes providing a pin having a first end and a second end, opposite the first end, the second end comprising a projection, for example, a head; inserting the first end of the pin through an aperture in the ornament and through a hole in the frame wherein the projection obstructs the aperture in the ornament; deforming, for example, twisting, the second end of the pin to provide a deformation of the second end that obstructs passage of the second end through the hole in the frame; and retaining the ornament on the frame by the projection of the first end of the pin and the deformation of the second end of the pin. Aspects of the invention facilitate the mounting of ornaments to ornamental fixtures, for example, chandeliers.
