Patents Assigned to Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep B.V.
  • Patent number: 5374383
Abstract: A method of forming in a mould an article using a thermoplastic sandwich material, which material has a core of a thermoplastic foam and one or two, optionally fiber-reinforced, covering layers of a thermoplastic resin, the method having the steps of providing in the mould a foamable thermoplastic synthetic material and said one or two fiber-reinforced covering layers, supplying a liquid to the mould at an elevated pressure and temperature, whereby the temperature of the thermoplastic synthetic material is raised to a temperature above the temperature at which the material foams, followed by lowering the pressure of the liquid and removing the liquid from the mould with foaming of the thermoplastic synthetic material.

  • Patent number: 5192482
Abstract: The invention is directed to a sheet-like sandwich material provided with a local reinforcement having a core material sandwiched between two reinforced top layers, which core material is a thermoplastic, formed core material or a core material having a honeycomb structure, and which top layers a thermoplastic synthetic plastic material reinforced with fibers, preferably in the form of a woven fabric, a knitted fabric, a fibrous web, or unidirectionally applied fibers, and at least one local reinforcement having an amount of plastic material injected under pressure into the core material through one of the top layers, and which plastic material has hardened after injection and to a process for providing a local reinforcement in a sheet-like sandwich material.

  • Patent number: 5128201
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of making a foamable foil of at least one thermoplastic resin with at least one liquid blowing agent incorporated therein, said method comprising forming the thermoplastic resin into a layer between two foils, said resin comprising an excess of blowing agent, to form an assembly comprising at least an intermediate layer of resin with blowing agent and two other layers, whereafter the blowing agent partly diffuses from the intermediate layer.

  • Patent number: 5043127
Abstract: A method of making a shaped article from at least one integrated multi-layered sheet having excellent mechanical properties and being light in weight, which includes the steps of providing a thermoplastic synthetic material reinforced by a fiber mat on at least one side of a substantially flat sheet of thermoplastic synthetic foam having a homogeneous structure, the fiber mat, thermoplastic synthetic material and sheet of synthetic foam being integrated under the influence of elevated temperature and increased pressure, providing deformability by entirely or locally heating the resulting integrated fiber reinforced sheet, giving the heated sheet the desired structure and shape, and fixing the article by cooling.

  • Patent number: 5032443
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of making an article from a thermoplastic sandwich material, the normals of at least two surfaces of said material mutually forming an angle, said sandwich material comprising a foam core of a thermoplastic foam and top layers of a thermoplastic synthetic material, which top layers are reinforced with woven fabric, knitted fabric, fibre web or unidirectionally applied fibres, comprising at least the steps of softening a portion of one of said surfaces of said thermoplastic sandwich material over a distance corresponding at least to the length of the folding line of the angle between the two surfaces, by means of a die, the impression of said die being provided at least partly in the top layer, and folding the two surfaces of said thermoplastic material, the surface that has been softened being thereby disposed on the inside of the angle.
