Patents Assigned to Schunk Sonosystems GmbH
  • Patent number: 8288653
Abstract: The invention relates to method for producing a connecting passage node or end node which has a rectangular shape in cross section and consists of electrical conductors. The nodes are produced by compacting and subsequent welding of the conductors by means of ultrasound in a compression chamber of the ultrasound welding machine of which the height and width can be adjusted and which has a rectangular shape in cross section, wherein opposite delimitation surfaces of the compression chamber form sections of a sonotrode and an opposite counter electrode, respectively. To connect electrical conductors which are difficult to weld to an end node and/or connecting passage node, the conductors (50, 52, 54) are brought into a sleeve and, subsequently, the sleeve (62, 65) is welded with the conductors in the compression chamber to form the end node and/or connecting passage node (49) having a rectangular cross section.

Abstract: A process for reducing aluminum pick-up and adherence during the ultrasonic welding of aluminum braids which are welded in a vertically and/or horizontally adjustable compression chamber of an ultrasonic welding device. The static tool parts which delimit the compression chamber have working surfaces made from polycrystalline diamond (PCD).

  • Patent number: 8021504
Abstract: A quality control method for ultrasound welding. The method provides for the generation of a tolerance range which is adjusted to the progress of the welding process and which is generated from measured values which influence the welding process. A measured value tolerance range is determined from measured values of executed welding processes, the measured values being associated with at least one parameter which influences the welding process and/or represents the goods of the welding process. Measured values are associated with an identical parameter of a further welding process following thereafter and are considered during the quality monitoring in such a way that the measured value tolerance range is changed in its form or composition to an average value for further welding processes, in accordance with the variance between the additional measured values and the tolerance range determined from previous measured values.

  • Publication number: 20100170935
Abstract: An ultrasound welding device and a method for connecting stranded wires in an electrically conducting manner with a metal U-shaped support by ultrasound welding, where the stranded wires are made of individual wires that are essentially aluminum. The sonotrode used according to the invention is a sonotrode has a welding surface which is shaped like an open trapezoid having short base sides as the bottom face during welding, the stranded wires directly contacting the bottom face and the lateral faces that extend therefrom and form an obtuse angle. The overall cross-sectional area FL of the stranded wires inserted in the U-shaped support and the cross-sectional area FS of the space surrounded by the bottom face and the lateral faces have a relationship FS<FL<2FS in the welded state.
