Patents Assigned to Schwab Safe Co., Inc.
  • Patent number: 4373450
Abstract: A safe for storing and protecting the contents against high exterior temperatures in which the storage space is lined with foam insulation and a wax layer which melts to absorb heat energy. A drawer is slidably mounted for movement into and out of the space and sealed by an inner door with wide and narrow seals on the inner door periphery and door opening periphery embedding into each other. A pressure test hole extends between the storage space and the space outside the inner door for testing pressure. The inner door is locked by cams manually operated by a locking bar mounted on the outside of the inner door to engage locking posts within the cabinet. A hinged outer door provides an additional seal.

  • Patent number: 4285560
Abstract: An anti-racking device for a lateral file cabinet including conventional slides mounted at the bottom and along each side edge of the drawer. The slides are mounted to the cabinet frame by the vertical and horizontal flanges of an L-shaped bracket which is mounted to the side panels of the cabinet by single screw mountings so that the bottom slides may move vertically to compensate for manufacturing tolerances and future wear.

  • Patent number: 4127995
Abstract: A multiple bolt combination lock with a combination dial having a shaft rotatable with the dial and extending through a wheel post and a bottom pan to engage locking wheels having gates which can be aligned by manipulation of the wheel. The bottom pan is fixed to a top pan having a plurality of locking rods pivotably attached thereto at a distance from the center of rotation so that rotation of the pans in one direction causes the rods to retract and rotation in the opposite direction causes the rods to advance. When the gates are aligned, a lever arm mounted on the bottom pan pivots under the urging of a spring into a position latching the dial and pans together for rotation. When the dial is rotated in a direction so as to advance the rods into a latching position, a cam on the wheel post which extends through a slot in the bottom pan engages the lever arm to pivot that arm out of the gates after the rods are in the latching position.

  • Patent number: 4063436
Abstract: A combination lock with a combination dial having a shaft extending through an elliptically shaped door aperture, through a wheel post, and through an elliptically shaped aperture in a lock stand to mount a cam and a plurality of locking wheels each having a slot which when properly positioned permits sliding movement of the dial, post wheels and a locking bolt mounted on the post to a release position in response to manually applied lateral force as the aligned slots move into an upstanding fence on the stand. A spring connected to the stand extends about the post to urge the post in the opposite direction toward a latch position.
