Abstract: A system and method for prefetching data. Address logs are separated into streams and a model associated with each stream. Each stream address is forecasted according to its respective model and pages corresponding to one or more forecasted stream addresses are retrieved from memory based on their respective models.

Abstract: Various systems, machine-readable media, and methods for controlled use of medical applications using virtualization are described herein. In various embodiments, a virtualized medical application container can be created, including creating an image of a clean version of an operating system, installing a medical application on the image, and initializing the medical application on the image. Various embodiments include receiving an indication of a request for metered use of the medical application; requesting permission for metered use of the medical application, wherein the metered use includes at least one of a single use, a defined number of uses, unlimited use, or timed use; executing at least a portion of the medical application; and controlling usage of the medical application to comply with at least one of medical informatics standards and medical informatics regulations.

Abstract: Disclosed in some examples is an improved computing architecture, which includes multiple processor cores and I/O devices communicating with multiple memory banks using a High Speed Interconnect Unit (HSU). The HSU quickly routes (e.g., in one clock cycle) a memory access request from an I/O device or a processor core to a particular memory bank over one of a number of independent memory routes, each memory route servicing a particular memory bank. The routing is based upon the values of preselected bit positions (“preselected bits”) in the requested memory address, the preselected bits being chosen so as to maximize the distribution of memory accesses of the entire system across all available memory banks (and by extension distributing the memory accesses across the available memory routes).

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and apparatus for operating and deploying a broadband wireless network including at least one data transmission node and a plurality of CPE units, wherein the data transmission node and the CPE units are connected at least in part using a wireless data link, wherein each of a plurality of the CPE units provide a respective subscriber access to a broadband wireless network in communication with the data transmission node. According to one embodiment, the methods and apparatus can include a network operating center device including a feature allowing the broadband wireless carrier to procure management of the broadband wireless network from a second party that operates the network operating center device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and apparatus for operating and deploying a broadband wireless network having at least one data transmission node and a plurality of CPE units, wherein there is a wireless data link at least in part between the data transmission node and the CPE units, and further wherein the management and configuration of the network is managed centrally and at least one of authorization, authentication, data stream prioritization or queuing is accomplished through the operation of the CPE units. According to one embodiment there is provided a user group manager that provides a user interface for at least one local service provider to manage information about end users served by the local service provider. In another embodiment, management and configuration of the network is managed using a device that communicates with CPE units and the data transmission nodes.
