  • Patent number: 11965714
Abstract: Video sources and inertial sensors are attached to a weapon and to goggles. A computer receives video images from the weapon- and goggles-mounted sources and inertial data from the sensors. The computer calculates a location for an image from the weapon-mounted source within an image from the goggles-mounted source using the inertial sensor data. The sensor-based location is checked (and possibly adjusted) based on a comparison of the images. A database contains information about real-world objects in a field of view of the goggles-mounted source, and is used to generate icons or other graphics concerning such objects.

  • Publication number: 20240037786
Abstract: Search points in a search space may be projected onto images from cameras imaging different parts of the search space. Subimages, corresponding to the projected search points, may be selected and processed to determine if a target object has been detected. Based on subimages in which target objects are detected, as well as orientation data from cameras capturing images from which the subimages were selected, positions of the target objects in the search space may be determined.

  • Patent number: 11880499
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media for creating an observation video are described. The observation video may comprise a viewport that moves in coordination with motion of an HMD user's head and that shows portions of VR content being output to the HMD user at different times. For each of those times, motion data from the HMD may be used to determine a position, orientation, and/or shape of the viewport. The observation video may also include an element that represents the HMD user, which element may comprise a video element video isolated from video of the user captured by a camera, and/or which may comprise an animated avatar.

  • Patent number: 11866204
Abstract: A thermal control system may transfer energy (directly or after a delay) to a thrusting device that can be used to slow a reentry vehicle entering a gaseous atmosphere from orbit. The thermal control system may mitigate the heating of the vehicle by transferring heat generated by the viscous interaction between the vehicle and high-altitude portions of a planetary atmosphere to a working fluid. This working fluid may then be routed through and/or ejected through one or more nozzles aligned to produce thrust in a direction that opposes the forward motion of this vehicle. This counter thrust may help to slow the reentry vehicle and reduce the amount of kinetic energy that can be converted into thermal energy. The working fluid may also be stored to use for propulsion after the reentry vehicle slows below hypersonic velocities.

  • Patent number: 11870756
Abstract: A unidirectional transfer protocol allows data to be transmitted from a non-secure network into a secure network. A non-secure gateway may receive data and/or information, intended for the secure network, from one or more devices. The gateway may fragment the data and/or information into smaller chunks and transmit the chunks to a secure gateway via a unidirectional communication channel. The secure gateway may verify the chunks using one or more rules and reassemble the chunks when the data is validated. The reassembled data may be sent across a secure network enclave. The unidirectional transfer protocol may provide a hardware-agnostic solution for transmitting data over a unidirectional communication channel.

  • Patent number: 11860040
Abstract: Infrared transparent constructs (e.g., infrared transparent windows) may be shaped as a dome (e.g., for an infrared detector system) and/or other desired geometries, such as portions of IR seeker domes. Electrically conductive tracing(s) may be printed in desired shapes and forms, e.g., in the form of EMI shielding, an FSS grid, an anti-static component, electrical connectors, etc., and integrated into the interior of the construct structure. The electrically conductive tracing(s) may be printed between layers of independent infrared transparent window components that are then engaged together to form a window preform. Additionally or alternatively, the electrically conductive tracing(s) may be printed between printed layers of infrared transparent ceramic or plastic material built up to form the window preform. Once formed, the window preform may be sintered, e.g., in an ultrafast high temperature sintering process (and optionally further treated) to produce the final infrared transparent construct.

  • Patent number: 11748395
Abstract: An enterprise ontology, an application data usage model, and/or cross-application data dependencies may be developed using artificial intelligence. Using pattern recognition and/or information extraction techniques, the artificial intelligence may analyze application source code to identify common DDL or SQL statements to formulate an ontology and/or a usage model for the application. A plurality of application ontologies and/or data usage models may be used to build a semantic hub. The semantic hub may be analyzed to identify data redundancies, data use frequency, potential data quality challenges, and/or data dependencies between applications to produce a data abstraction model that allows legacy applications to communicate with one or more data stores.

  • Patent number: 11598613
Abstract: Aluminum structures, such as tactical vehicle hulls, include plural aluminum components formed from a first alloy composition and joined by one or more welded seam(s). The welded seam(s) may be formed by friction stir welding and/or gas metal arc welding using welding wire made from the first alloy composition. In this manner, all component parts are made from the same alloy composition, providing a more homogeneous structure. The welded component parts then may be placed in a heat treatment furnace to temper the structure. Because essentially all of the aluminum structure before heat treating—the welded seam(s) and the individual component parts—is formed of the same starting material and these parts/seam(s) are simultaneously and evenly heat treated, the resultant hardened, heat-treated part (e.g., a vehicle hull) has a more homogeneous hardened/heat treated structure in the individual parts and across the welded seam(s).

  • Patent number: 11578952
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are described for a HERF weapon that may emit high-energy radio waves at a target based on locational information and a frequency associated with the target. The HERF weapon may receive the frequency and locational information from a sensing system.
