Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a plethysmograph. The plethysmograph comprises a housing defining a test cavity configured to enclose a test subject. The plethysmograph further comprises an optical filter providing a spectrally restricted optical access to the test cavity from an exterior of the housing, the optical filter being configured to at least partially transmit light in a transmission band ranging from about 560 nm to about 750 nm; and to at least partially block light in a blocking band ranging from about 380 nm to about 560 nm.

Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a sample-maintaining system for a microscope, the sample-maintaining system comprising a ring-shaped outer member comprising a bottom-facing surface and having an inner peripheral surface at least partially delimiting an inner member-receiving through opening; and a ring-shaped inner member defining a sample-receiving through opening and comprising a bottom-contacting surface; the inner member being removably arranged in the inner member-receiving through opening of the outer member; wherein when the bottom-contacting surface of the inner member is supported onto a container bottom wall, the bottom-facing surface of the outer member is spaced apart therefrom. Abstract: A self-actuated cylinder comprising a cylinder housing comprising electro-magnetic force generating means to generate electro-magnetic forces, and a piston within the cylinder housing, wherein the electro-magnetic forces act directly on the piston to displace the piston within the cylinder housing. The self-actuated cylinder can be used as an oscillation spirometer to determine air flow, an input impedance or Forced Oscillation pulmonary mechanics.

Abstract: A modular kit of complementary plethysmographic apparatus components including at least one tube, at least one termination device for closing an open extremity of the tube and first and second complementary coupling mechanisms formed on the tube and the termination device. The coupling mechanisms are adapted to provide sealing engagement between the tube and the termination device. The first and second complementary coupling mechanisms comprise a notched interface component adapted to fit into a corresponding mating gap component, such that a rotation of the two components with respect to each other, solidly locks the two components together while applying pressure onto a face seal between the two components.
