    Abstract: An edge banding device for panels includes an edge band applicator. The edge band applicator includes a motor-driven shaft that defines a vertical main axis and that mounts and drives a roller that contacts the edge of the panel. The contact roller turns freely about the vertical main axis. On opposite sides of the contact roller are located a glue feeder and at least one main pressure roller of the edge band. The glue feeder and pressure roller are adapted for oscillating about the shaft in accordance with the profile of the panel.

    Abstract: A panel sanding machine comprises an abrasive belt and a pad mounted by the machine in such a way that it rotates in orbital fashion around an axis transverse to the plane in which the panels lie and presses the abrasive belt against the panel being machined. The abrasive belt is supported by the pad in such a way that it can slide on the latter in a direction parallel to the panel being machined. The machine also includes a feature for alternately allowing and preventing the sliding of the abrasive belt relative to the pad in two working conditions, of which the first allows the belt to slide so as to change the part of it that is in contact with the panel being worked, and the second locks the belt to the pad so that the panels can be sanded.

    Abstract: A cross-beam for a vacuum hold-down table formed by a monoblock section upon which a vacuum hold-down table is fitted and movable on slides. The monoblock section houses a first tubular chamber which extends along its length and is connected to external vacuum source. A part of the first chamber has an opening on which a magnetic seal with a plurality of evenly distributed holes is placed and fitted over this seal on the outside of the monoblock section first chamber is a deformable strip of magnetic material which is movable from one position which closes the first chamber to another position which opens the said chamber during the passage of a deflector unit on the strip which is fixed to the vacuum hold-down table and connects the first chamber and vacuum hold-down table at any point on the monoblock section.

    Abstract: A machining unit, typically for wood panels, features a work table afforded by a body of prismatic geometry having at least two faces and rotatable about an axis which is also its instantaneous center, in such a way as to establish at least two movable and tiltable work surfaces; the prismatic body is carried within a frame encompassing the tool and combining with the two faces to create respective independent work areas, one in which panels are fed to and from the unit, the other coinciding with a station at which machining takes place, and where the waste and chips generated by machining are cleared from the table and the work. The prismatic body also functions as the main barrier separating two work environments, the one an open external space occupied by the operator, the other an enclosure disallowing access to the operator while machining is in progress.
