Abstract: Many attempts at translating real-time events (e.g., sporting events) to augmented reality (AR)-based, extended or Data Processing Service and Technology Environment cross reality (XR)-based, or virtual reality (VR)-based experiences and environments rely upon mapping captured surface image data (such as video, pictures, etc.) of objects (e.g., balls, players, etc.) onto computer-modeled environments. This surface mapping results in imperfect and unsatisfactory virtual reality experiences for the viewer because the images and sounds do not perfectly correlate to the motion and states of the real-time objects and players. To solve this problem, and create an improved experience fo the virtual spectator, a more accurate and immersive virtual, extended, or aumented reality environment can be created by relying on data from a network system of sensors embedded throughout the real-time environment during the event in question.

Abstract: There is disclosed a novel system and method for performance monitoring of athletes. In an embodiment, the system comprises a plurality of sensor modules mounted on different locations of an athlete, wherein at least one of the plurality of sensor modules is a master sensor module configured to interconnect with all other sensor modules to collect performance data for transmission to a computer system configured to collect the performance data. In an embodiment, a sensor module is housed in a cavity of a blade holder in at least one skate of a pair of skates worn by a hockey player.

Abstract: An ice skate assembly for attachment to a boot has a skate blade and a blade heating arrangement mounted within a blade support. The blade is heated by a row of field-effect transistors or by a resistance heating wire carried on the blade at a circuit board encapsulated on the top edge of the blade in an over-molded plastic strip which engages into a slot in the support as a wedged fit. The blade is attached by an inclined wedge member a screw for pulling the blade longitudinally of the blade and to draw the inclined wedge member into its receptacle. The battery pack is carried in the rear tower which is sealed against moisture penetration and includes two proximity switches for actuation.
