Abstract: An instrument for measuring the pluck resistance of snap-members has a presser for pressing the fabric of a garment to which a snap member is attached, securely around the member and a plurality of jaws for constraining the sides of the snap member. A tensile force pulls the snap member away in the direction at right angles to the fabric surface to which the snap member is attached and a gauge measures the tensile force.

Abstract: Fasteners which are nonallergenic and permit magnetic detection of lost or broken needles in the clothing on which they are used, comprising a fastener body, an undercoat of nonmagnetic Ni--P alloy plating, and a top layer of nonmagnetic Ni--Sn alloy plating. The compositional ratio by weight of the Ni--Sn alloy is in the range of Sn:Ni=1:2.2.about.2.8.

Abstract: A fastener attaching apparatus for selectively feeding fasteners to portions of the material of clothes or the like includes hoppers for receiving fasteners, guide tracks and guide grooves for feeding fasteners, push rods for pushing fasteners, an upper mold for holding the material of clothes, and power sources that actuate the push rods for attaching fasteners to the material interposed between the upper and lower molds.

Abstract: An electrode sensor for a biomedical electrode of the button type comprises a plastic base which consists of a shank to be clinched to fill up the cavity of an expanded hollow head of an electrode button and a base flange formed in one piece of the shank, and an electrically conductive film formed over the plastic base. The flange is bowl-shaped with a gradual upward inclination from the center toward the periphery. The flange has a plurality of projections or grooves formed on at least either its upper or under side.

Abstract: A plastic stud or socket of a snap comprising a stud or socket body with a flange having an annular groove formed at the bottom. The groove is reversely tapered outward, or downward, and open at the bottom of the flange so as to receive a plurality of clinchable prongs of a backing member for attachment to an article of clothing or the like. In another aspect, the radially inner and outer sidewalls of the annular groove in the flange extend outwardly to form projecting edges respectively.

Abstract: The present invention provides a swivel-head button comprising a button member with a cylindrical member upstanding from a flange and an attaching member with an opening in the center in which said cylindrical member is received, the bottom end of said cylindrical member being provided with a fulcrum part for swivelling head movement having an outer diameter larger than the opening of said attaching member.The swivel-head button is simple and minituarized in construction but retains a sufficient attaching strength.

Abstract: A marking light, or an attaching-position indicator, for a buttoning apparatus to indicate the position where each button member is to be attached in place, comprises a slender optical pointer member, engaging means secured to the rear end of the optical pointer member for selective engagement with a part of a pusher of the buttoning apparatus, a fixing member for the indicator including a support having means to support the front end portion of the pointer member so as to be movable back and forth with respect to a position immediately below an upper attaching die of the apparatus, release means connected to the engaging means for disengaging the engaging means from a part of the pusher, and means for biasing the pointer member in the direction of withdrawal clear of the upper attaching die. The support is equipped with a resilient engaging means fixed at one end to the fixing member and so disposed as to engage resiliently a part of the support at the other end.

The projections are formed either directly on the back member or downwardly in a reinforcing groove formed in the member.

Abstract: A covered button comprises a button body consisting of a mushroomlike head and a shank, a covering material covering the head and a washer adapted to retain the peripheral edge of the covering material in position on the back of the head. The inner periphery of the washer bites into the shank to prevent it from dislodging.

Abstract: A socket constituting the female member of a snap fastener, which comprises a metal spring button part including an annular base, an inner portion extending inwardly and downwardly from the inner portion of said annular base, and further extending inwardly and upwardly and split into flaps which terminate with tongues arranged circularly for elastic engagement with a stud as the male member of the snap fastener, an outer portion curvedly extending outwardly and downwardly from the outer portion of said annular base and then inwardly to form portions to guide and receive the legs of a backing member of the snap fastener, and a cover plate having a circular opening of a larger diameter than the inside diameter of the circle defined by said tongues, said cover plate being secured to the periphery on the tongue side of said annular base.

The outside member has a round head adapted to engage a socket-side piece of the snap fastener, a flat flange portion adapted to contact the same side of the fabric or the like and hold the deformed claws of the backing member as attached to the fabric or the like, and a curved guide face portion extending over the guide face portion of the inside member toward the periphery of the flat flange portion so as to receive and guide the claws of the backing member.
