Abstract: An apparatus for toning an exerciser's buttocks comprises, a base having a front end region and a rear end region; a seat guide; and a force-transmitting mechanism for supporting the seat guide on the base for guided movement under tension from a raised position, along an forward inclined trajectory in which the seat guide is continuously lowered in elevation to a lowered position. The exerciser sits on the seat guide and controls its downward and upward motion by tensioning and thereby exercising the users gluteus maximus, medius, and gluteus minimus muscles.
Abstract: An apparatus for a squat exercise comprises a user buttocks pad supported by a pivotally mounted arm for rotation in a vertical plane to allow the user to perform the exercise while in contact with the buttocks pad. The arm length and initial angular position with respect to the horizontal being adjustable. Hand grips are provided for engagement by the user during the exercise. A weight stack is operatively connected to the arm for providing a resistive force as the user squats and an assisting force as the user rises hack to the starting position. A footrest is positioned to maintain the feet of the user to allow the weight of the user to be directed through the heels during the exercise. A base supports a pivot for the arm, as well as the weight stack and footrest.
Abstract: An exercise apparatus for the exercise of a user's gluteus muscles through a supported seated squat downward from an upper starting position and a upward return movement has a base, a pair of user foot support ramps mounted to the base for supporting the toe portions of the feet with the heels on the floor, a pair of spaced fixed uprights mounted to the base and located forward of the foot supports terminating in a pair of hand grips. A buttocks support assembly with an angled buttocks support pad is pivotally mounted to the uprights, and a compressible linkage connects the pad assembly to the base. The linkage provides an opposing force to the downward travel of the support assembly and a boost restoring force to the support assembly for returning the support pad to an upper starting position. The user provides a controlled descent from an initial upper position to a squat and a controlled return from the squat to the upper position.
