  • Patent number: 10755734
Abstract: An apparatus may include a circuit configured to receive first and second samples of an underlying data from respective first and second sample periods and which correspond to respective first and second sensors, a phase control value may have first and second values during respective first and second sample periods. The phase control value may be a control value for a sample clock signal. The circuit may also determine a difference in the phase control value between the first value and the second value. The circuit may then digitally interpolate the first and second samples to produce a phase shifted first and second samples where the digital interpolation of at least one of the first and second samples mat be at least in part based on the difference in the phase control value to compensate for a phase misalignment between the first sample and the second sample.

  • Patent number: 10754555
Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing data in a memory, such as a flash memory. A memory module has a non-volatile memory (NVM) and a memory module electronics (MME) circuit configured to program data to and read data from solid-state non-volatile memory cells of the NVM. A map structure associates logical addresses of user data blocks with physical addresses in the NVM at which the user data blocks are stored. A controller circuit arranges the user data blocks into map units (MUs), and directs the MME circuit to write the MUs to a selected page of the NVM. The controller circuit updates the map structure to list only a single occurrence of a physical address for all of the MUs written to the selected page. The map structure is further updated to list an MU offset and an MU length for each of the MUs written to the selected page.

Abstract: Weak erase detection and mitigation techniques are provided that detect permanent failures in solid-state storage devices. One exemplary method comprises obtaining an erase fail bits metric for a solid-state storage device; and detecting a permanent failure in at least a portion of the solid-state storage device causing weak erase failure mode by comparing the erase fail bit metric to a predefined fail bits threshold. In at least one embodiment, the method also comprises mitigating for the permanent failure causing the weak erase failure mode for one or more cells of the solid-state storage device. The mitigating for the permanent failure comprises, for example, changing a status of the one or more cells to a defective state and/or a retired state. The detection of the permanent failure causing the weak erase failure mode comprises, for example, detecting the weak erase failure mode without an erase failure.

  • Patent number: 10734087
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer-readable storage media for determining a new optimal read threshold voltage associated with a group of pages of non-volatile memory. It is determined whether the current optimal read threshold voltage associated with the group of pages is out of tolerance based at least in part on a retention drift history associated with the group of pages. Upon determining that the current optimal read threshold voltage is out of tolerance, reference cells associated with the group of pages are written with a pattern having a known statistical distribution of ones and zeroes. The new optimal read threshold voltage associated with the group of pages is determined by reading the reference cells, and the retention drift history associated with the group of pages is updated with the new optimal read threshold voltage and an indication of a new reference cell generation.
