    Abstract: A sealing, trimming or guiding strip (15) for windows of a motor vehicle comprises a loop formed around the fixed quarter light (11) of the vehicle and a further loop formed around the sliding main window (9) of the rear door of the vehicle. This strip comprises an extruded part (19) extending along both loops to provide a pleasing continuous appearance for the exterior of the vehicle. A portion of the extruded material (19) is cut away and replaced by molded material molded onto the extruded part (19) for the portion of the strip into which the quarter light (11) is mounted.

    Abstract: The present invention provides for a weatherstrip assembly for a motor vehicle. The assembly includes a carrier having a base and a first and second leg extending from the base to a first and second distal end, respectively. The legs are spaced from each other to define a channel for receiving the motor vehicle. A seal is mounted to the first distal end. At least one securing flange is coupled to the second distal end for fastening the carrier to the motor vehicle. A living hinge is disposed between the securing flange and the second distal end, such that the securing flange is moveable independent of the carrier. The living hinge comprises a first section having a generally recessed configuration and a first thickness, and a second section having a generally planar configuration and a second thickness.

    Abstract: One aspect of the invention relates to a cylinder head gasket provided with at least one opening corresponding to a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. The gasket has a function layer with a full bead and an annular support with a bead. The bead of the annular support is arranged on the side of the full bead which is oriented away from the combustion chamber. Another aspect of the invention relates to a cylinder head gasket having an upper functional layer, an annular support and a lower functional layer. The annular support is arranged between the upper and lower functional layers and is adjacent to the lower functional layer. The upper functional layer comprises one full bead, and the lower functional layer has a bead arranged on the side of the full bead which is oriented away from the combustion chamber.

The window assembly includes a sealing assembly in combination with a window glass. The sealing assembly comprises a sealing, trimming or guiding strip comprising a length of extruded material, a polypropylene or the like part which is joined to the window glass at an edge of the window glass, and a molded material, which is joined to the polypropylene or the like part and connected to said sealing strip. The molded material is preferably made of TPE. The strip is preferably made of EPDM. The molded material is molded in a mold with the polypropylene or the like part, which has previously been molded onto the window glass, and the strip to mold onto and thereby connect to these parts.

The weatherstrip assembly includes a body having an exterior surface and an interior surface defining a channel. The body has a plurality of retaining lips extending into the channel. A seal extends from the exterior surface. A locking fin has a first end and a second end. The first end of the locking fin is mounted to one of the interior surface and the exterior surface and the second end of the locking fin disposed within the channel. A shim extends from the second end of the locking fin. The shim engages the interior surface and supports the locking fin within the channel. The retaining lips and the locking fin at least partially define a slot for sandwiching the frame between the retaining lips and the locking fin within the slot.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to cylinder head gaskets on internal combustion engines, with at least three layers, namely a mid-layer, a function layer and a layer of a compression limiter. The mid-layer is arranged between the function layer and the compression limiter. The mid-layer has at least two essentially round fixing openings, outside a sealing region. The compression limiter is beaded around the edges of the fixing openings in the region thereof, and in this way fixes the compression limiter to the mid-layer. The function layer has recesses in the region of the fixing openings of the mid-layer, in order to accommodate the beaded region of the compression limiter, without increasing the total thickness of the gasket in the region of the fixing of the compression limiter.
