    Abstract: A seed mat for placement on a growing medium, such as soil. The seed mat includes a biodegradable mat having at least one hole, and a seed that is placed in the hole. The seed is encapsulated in the hole between top and bottom biodegradable sheets that are adhered to the top and bottom surfaces of the mat. An adhesive is used to adhere the top and bottom sheets to the mat.
