  • Patent number: 5103664
Abstract: The die and die ring and the associated extrusion process of the invention comprises providing an extrusion press including a billet container which holds a billet of material to be extruded and a die assembly which holds a die ring. The die ring is adapted to hold a die. The die ring has a first mating member and the die has a second mating member. The process further includes the step of moving the billet container into contact with the die assembly so that the die ring and die form a seal by means of the first and second mating members. The process further comprises the step of pushing the billet of material through the die assembly such that the extrusion is formed. The die assembly of the invention includes a die ring which contains a die. The die ring has a first mating member and the die has a second mating member. The die has a facing surface having a diameter less than or equal to the diameter of the billet opening of the extrusion press billet container.

  • Patent number: 4961286
Abstract: A toggle tilt latch for a tiltable window assembly which comprises a base adapted to be mounted to a window sash, a handle pivotally mounted to the base and a plunger operatively associated and movable with the handle. The plunger has a free end which protrudes from the base and engages the window frame when the window sash is in its normal vertical position. The plunger is retracted into the base by rotating the handle away from the base. This will allow the window sash to tilt inwardly relative to the window frame. The handle portion not only gives a ready visual indication of whether the plunger is retracted or not but also can be used as hand holds by a user to facilitate tilting of the window sash relative to the window frame.

  • Patent number: 4475311
Abstract: A window construction having fixed and movable frames and an associated latch assembly. The latch assembly includes a latch housing, a latch member reciprocable within said housing and a cam lock. The cam lock is rotatably mounted within the housing and has a first position wherein the cam lock urges a latch member into a locked position and a second position wherein the latch member may be moved to an unlocked position. The cam lock is preferably composed of a resilient, resinous material and has a cantilevered portion which engages a portion of the latch member. A special tool or key of predetermined configuration may be required to rotate the cam member. Among other uses, the latch may be employed in connection with double hung windows which are adapted to be tilted inwardly for cleaning. In such use the windows may be subjected to sliding movement regardless of the latch position, but tilting movement may be accomplished only when the latch assembly is in a locked position.
