Patent number: 11313098Abstract: A gravity-based structure (1) for supporting offshore installations comprising a foundation (4). The foundation (4) has a basal portion (11). The basal portion (11) has a plurality of openings (10) for drainage of water. There is at least one first layer (7) of filter material, with a gradation suitable for draining water entrapped beneath the basal portion (11) to the openings (10). The layer (7) is installed on the seabed (8) beneath the foundation (4). The foundation has a downwardly extending skirt (5) that is adapted to penetrate into the seabed beneath the filter material layer (7).Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2014Date of Patent: April 26, 2022Assignee: Seatower ASInventors: Sigurd Ramslie, Petter J. Patent number: 9599254Abstract: An apparatus for installation and protection of subsea cables comprises at least a first tubular member (1) and at least a second tubular member (2). Both these are arranged to be installed subsea with a subsea foundation (3). This allows passage of cable (29) through it. The first tubular member (1) is arranged telescopically within the second tubular member (2) so as to extract outwardly towards seabed (5) from an end portion (7), with respect to the second tubular member (2), only up to a prefixed length. This ensures that a continuous conduit for the cable is obtained through the scour protection of the foundation (3). The present invention also includes a methodology for installation of the apparatus and a method for installing a cable through the scour protection of the foundation, by using the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2014Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: Seatower ASInventor: Sigurd Ramslie

Patent number: 9567038Abstract: An apparatus (1?) for transportation, installation and retrieval of marine structures (10) is disclosed and illustrated. It comprises at least two suitably connected vessels (1,2) with adjustable buoyancy, each having a first end (5) and a second end (8). The apparatus is equipped with lifting mechanism for lifting a marine structure on and from it. The vessels (1,2) are connected to each other at each said first end (5) at an angle (4) and are free at each said second end (8), thus forming a V-shape. The invention also embraces the methodology for transportation, installation and retrieval of marine structures, using the apparatus (1?).Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2014Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: Seatower ASInventor: Sigurd Ramslie

Publication number: 20110305523Abstract: A support structure for use in the offshore wind farm industry, and a method of manufacturing and installing same, including a foundation for installation on a seabed below a body of water and a tower connected to and extending upwards from the foundation and being capable of supporting at least an equipment unit. The foundation includes a bottom slab and a wall extending upwards from the bottom slab, thereby defining a first cavity for holding ballast and for providing buoyancy during tow-out and installation. The foundation further includes a circumferential skirt extending downwards from the bottom slab, thereby defining at least one compartment underneath the foundation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2009Publication date: December 15, 2011Applicant: SEATOWER ASInventors: Karel Karal, Sigurd Ramslie
