  • Patent number: 11272855
Abstract: A method and a device for determining an estimation value of the body weight of a person, in which at least one measurement value typical for a biological impedance measurement is determined and transmitted to an evaluation unit. The evaluation unit processes the measurement value together with individual or several individual data of the person as well as taking into consideration statistical data concerning other persons, in order to determine an estimated value for the weight of the person.

  • Patent number: 9804019
Abstract: A method and device for simultaneously measuring the mass and the height of a body, wherein the measurement of the body mass is carried out by measuring the deformation of at least one deformable element, during which a scale platform is lowered, and the height measurement is realized as an absolute distance measurement relative to the scale platform, so that the distance measurement is subject to an error equal to the amount by which the scale platform is lowered. The error-prone distance measurement is converted by a correction factor into a height measurement value the absolute value of which corresponds to the averaged lowering of the scale platform.

  • Publication number: 20170122794
Abstract: A combination measuring device for measuring the weight and a further body parameter of a subject includes a weighing scale, a measuring apparatus for the further body parameter, and a data acquisition and processing unit to control the measuring process of the scale and measuring apparatus. The device acquires from the scale measuring signals representing a weight as a function of time over a measuring period, processes the signals, and outputs measurement results. The data acquisition and processing unit determines a weight measuring result from the measuring signals of the scale; monitors over the measuring period a deviation of the measuring signals from the weight measuring result; and, in case the deviation exceeds a predetermined first threshold value, generates a suspicion message indicative of possible movement of the subject. The suspicion message is used in an examination of the reliability of the measuring result for the further body parameter.

  • Publication number: 20170071500
Abstract: An acquisition device for electrical impedance analysis for determining body composition parameters includes a control and analysis unit including measuring and processing circuitry and at least two electric lines, each of which lines is connected to the control and analysis unit and has an electrode. Each electrode is dedicated for connection at an assigned measuring position out of a set of predetermined measuring positions. The control and analysis unit is arranged to cause application of alternating current through electrodes and to measure a resulting voltage between electrodes; record a time dependent electric signal generated by cardiac activity of the subject for each pair of electrodes; and by comparing the time dependent electric signals with expected electric signals of cardiac activity for the predetermined measuring positions, assign to the electrodes those measuring positions for which the time dependent electric signals best fit the expected electric signal of the cardiac activity.
