  • Patent number: 8326036
Abstract: A method of decomposing a set of scans of different views of overlapping objects into constituent objects is presented. The method involves an initialization process whereby keypoints in two views are determined and matched, disparity between keypoint pairs are computed, and the keypoints are grouped into clusters based on their disparities. Following the initialization process is an iterative optimization process whereby a cost function is calculated and minimized assuming a fixed composition matrix and re-solved assuming a fixed attenuation coefficient. Then, the composition matrix and the attenuation coefficient are updated simultaneously, and the solving, the re-solving, and the updating steps are repeated until there is no significant improvement in the result.

  • Publication number: 20120266411
Abstract: A door position detecting apparatus comprises a switch including a body having two electrical contacts and a through-channel. The through-channel of the switch receives a hinge pin inserted therethrough and further inserted into a door hinge. Two lever arms extend from the body. Each of the arms is attached to a respective one of the electrical contacts. The arms have a first position relative to each other wherein the contacts are electrically connected to each other, and a second position relative to each other wherein the contacts are electrically disconnected from each other. Biasing means biases the arms against a fixed door jamb and a rotatable door, respectively, such that one of the arms follows movement of the rotatable door from an open position of the door to a closed position of the door. Monitoring means monitors whether the contacts are electrically connected to each other.

  • Patent number: 8286454
Abstract: A locking device for a merchandise display hook has an upper rod disposed along a longitudinal axis and a lower rod disposed generally parallel to the longitudinal axis and the upper rod. The locking device includes a housing having a vertical slot adapted to receive the upper rod and the lower rod of the display hook. A bayonet is movable between a locked position in which a portion of the bayonet extends into the slot and restricts movement of at least one of the upper rod and the lower rod within the slot, and an unlocked position in which the bayonet does not extend into the slot and thereby permits movement of the upper rod and the lower rod within the slot. An elongate nose depending outwardly from the housing defines a channel that intersects the slot of the housing and receives the upper rod of the display hook with the upper rod and the lower rod disposed within the slot.
