  • Patent number: 11781347
Abstract: A lock assembly for a door includes a lock body for mounting above a door lever of the door and including a locking bolt supported in a housing of the lock body for movement between a retracted position and an extended position. The locking bolt is held in the retracted position and spring biased toward the extended position and releasable from the retracted position to move to the extended position in response to actuation of a trigger operatively coupled with the lock body. The lock assembly further includes a door lever assembly adapted for mounting on the door lever in rotative fixed relationship with the door lever, and operatively coupled with the locking bolt so that rotation of the door lever assembly causes movement of the locking bolt from the extended position to the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 9074392
Abstract: A multi-point exit door lock and method of installing same, the door lock including main lock and upper and lower lock modules. a push type panic bar, lock bolts associated with each of the lock modules, and a pull-type cable of predetermined length having its ends fixed to the main lock module and to each of the upper and lower lock modules, whereby pushing the panic bar opens all lock modules. The method of installing the new lock includes a template which is temporarily mounted to the exit door and rotated to successive positions for automatically and accurately marking all the drill holes for mounting all the lock modules at relative distances apart corresponding to the predetermined distances between them pre-established by the cables of predetermined length fixedly attached to the various lock modules.

  • Patent number: 5787744
Abstract: A vandal-resistant torque sensitive release mechanism is disclosed for coupling and decoupling an actuating handle to a lock mechanism. The torque sensitive release mechanism is disclosed is in the form of a slip-clutch, with the rotational movement of the slip clutch being limited when excessive force is applied to prevent the actuating handle from moving to a position where it would interfere with the subsequent desired opening of the door.

  • Patent number: 5730014
Abstract: A vandal-resistant torque sensitive release mechanism for coupling an actuating handle to a lock mechanism. The torque sensitive release mechanism: is in the form of a slip-clutch, which utilizes spherical ball connectors in cooperating detents; is connected at one end to the operating handle via threaded engagement; and permits an adjustment of the disengagement force. A conventional type connection is provided at the other end of the slip clutch to allow a mutiplicty of different lock connections for coupling the handle operating to the operating lock mechanisms via the slip clutch.

  • Patent number: 5692786
Abstract: An electromagnetic door lock and release mechanism is disclosed in which the electromagnet is contained within a separate sub-assembly which is electrically connected to the control circuitry by quick connect type of frictional contacts. Accordingly, the electromagnet portion of the system may be changed without requiring the maintenance person to have access to the wires that connect the electromagnetic door lock and release mechanism to its control circuitry. This advantageously permits replacement of the electromagnet without requiring the services of an electrician.
