    Abstract: An automobile door locking system comprises mechanical means for connecting the door handle to the door latch, said mechanical means comprising separable parts, and electrically operated means for connecting said separable parts together whereby the latch can be released by operation of the door handle and for disconnecting said parts whereupon the latch can no longer be operated by actuation of the handle.
