  • Patent number: 5439138
Abstract: The dosaging device comprises a dosaging slide 1 actuated by a pivoting rocker 14 via a connecting rod 17. It slides within a groove 2. A unit volume is defined facing the dosaging slide 1 when the latter is at its bottom dead center. The dosaging slide 1 advances towards its top dead center to deliver the dosaged material into a transfer chamber 4.

  • Patent number: 5395476
Abstract: The laying of pieces 40 of cord 4 is assured by a laying tube 30 which receives the cord by placing its inlet facing the outlet of a cord distributor, the knife 85 of which cuts the cord just upstream of the laying tube 30. At the end of the laying tube 30 there is disposed a laying head 32 which is displaced transversely along the support 1 on which the reinforcement is built. The angle of laying of the cord is adjusted by judiciously coordinating the transverse speed of displacement of the head 32 and the speed of rotation of the support 1.

  • Patent number: 5362343
Abstract: The tire reinforcements are made from a single cord, a section (40) of which is advanced over a rigid core (2) until at least its central portion is opposite its final position on the support, whereupon folders (5) apply the section (40) radially against the core (2) by means of tappets (50) which act on the length (40) in the manner of a finger. The repetition of the same cycle as many times as there are lengths of cord in the reinforcement makes it possible to produce the complete reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 5314095
Abstract: The material to be metered fills the cylinder 1 when it is in front of the admission orifice 31, whereupon the cylinder 1 moves opposite the delivery orifice 32 where the piston 2 describes a movement towards top dead center in order to eject said material out of the cylinder 1. The cylinder 1 then moves towards the admission orifice while the piston 2 remains at top dead center to avoid any return flow, whereupon the cycle starts over again.

  • Patent number: 5281289
Abstract: The reinforcements for tires are made from a single cord (4) laid by a laying head (3A) which describes a path of any type surrounding the rigid core (2) which constitutes a rigid support on which the tire is progressively built. The path comprises a laying zone during which the laying head (3A) applies a length of cord. Between two successive passes of the laying head (3A), the rigid core (2) turns by an amount corresponding to the laying pitch.

  • Patent number: 5261795
Abstract: A volumetric pump for paste-like material, for example, unvulcanized rubber, in which a screw 21 feeds a cylinder 11 through ports 12 and in which a delivery piston 10 within the cylinder displaces the material through a non-return valve 15. A process for volumetric pumping of the material utilizing such volumetric pump.

  • Patent number: 5180462
Abstract: A pair of hooks for the manufacture of a tire reinforcement from a cord in which one of the hooks (32) is articulated relative to the other hook (31). It is designed in such a manner as to permit hooking of a loop of cord on both hooks, to insure grasping of one and only one strand of the loop of the cord by the second hook (32) to maintain the loop open for the insertion of a bead wire, and to optimize the position of the hooks during both the hooking and the unhooking phases.

  • Patent number: 5143254
Abstract: The material to be metered drops onto a plate 21 which is driven in rotation. This plate 21 is provided on its edge with a cylindrical wall 22 pierced by recesses 24. The plate 21 turns in a cylinder 3 which masks the recesses 24 except at a place where a hole 5 is provided. When the recesses 24 pass opposite the hole 5 they pass behind a screen 4. Each recess 24 is emptied when it passes behind the screen 4 and is otherwise filled under the effect of centrifugal force.
