  • Patent number: 9244177
Abstract: Position calculating methods and devices are described. Satellite information may be calculated, which includes satellite position, satellite movement speed, and satellite movement direction of a positioning satellite. A pseudo distance between the positioning satellite and a user may be calculated based on a satellite signal received from the positioning satellite. The position of the user may be calculated using the satellite information and the pseudo distance in executing a convergence calculation with positioning information for a reference satellite, thereby eliminating a time error term from unknown quantities.

  • Publication number: 20010005172
Abstract: A light-source lamp unit includes a light-source lamp unit detachably mounted, and a CPU constituting a drive and controller for the light-source lamp unit. The CPU senses lamp information obtained by a lamp-information storing block in the light-source lamp unit, pertaining to a lamp power rating, lamp life and whether a lamp is new or not, and starts counting operation time when the lamp is lit. The CPU compares the lamp life sensed and the operation time count, and forces the lamp to extinguish when the life of the light-source lamp expires. Prior to this action, the CPU gives a warning display before the life expiration of the lamp by a fixed duration of time, to warn that lamp replacement is needed. Because the lamp-information storing block in the light-source lamp unit stores the information about the lamp type and characteristics of the lamp, the light-source device can properly drive the lamp to light it and determine the lamp life even when a light-source lamp unit of a different type is used.

  • Patent number: 5440424
Abstract: A polarizer optical device for receiving and transmitting light is provided. The polarizer optical device includes a light separating section for separating the light into two polarization components which are othogonal with respect to one another. Further, the optical device is provided with a polarization rotating section for rotating the two polarization components so that a phase difference between the two polarization components othogonal to each other is 1/2.lambda.. Finally, a light combining section is provided for combining the light into a outputted light beam. The light combining section may be formed with a combination of birefringent prisms and isotropic mediums interfacing one another. In these configurations, the refractive index of each prism or medium is selected so that an angle formed with two unparallel incident lights differs from an angle formed with two output or transmitted lights.

  • Patent number: 5325320
Abstract: A high-speed multiplier utilizing a layout architecture requiring very little area on a chip. The present invention employs a floor plan which exemplifies regularity and is approximately 33.3% more compact than conventional Wallace Trees. During a first phase of a first clock cycle, Booth coding takes place resulting in a first group of partial products. In a second phase of the first clock cycle, the first group of partial products are input into a first and a second carry-save adder. Results from the second carry-save adder are latched in a first and second register. Also during the second phase of the first clock cycle, a second group of partial products are Booth coded. In a first phase of a cycle 2, the second group of partial products are input into the first and second carry-save adders. Results from the second carry-save adder are latched into a third and fourth register.
