  • Patent number: 11669000
Abstract: A method for controlling an optical device including a movable section including an optical section that refracts incident video image light in accordance with the angle of incidence of the video image light and outputs the refracted video image light and a holding section that supports the optical section, and an actuator that causes the movable section to swing, the method including applying a drive signal to the actuator to cause the movable section to swing. The drive signal is a trapezoidal wave having a trapezoidal waveform. Each leg section of the trapezoidal wave is formed of a first leg section and a second leg section connected to the first leg section. The inclination of the second leg section respect to the flat section of the trapezoidal wave is smaller than the inclination of the first leg section with respect to the flat section of the trapezoidal wave.

  • Patent number: 11669006
Abstract: A light guiding unit includes a light guiding member that light enters and an angle converter that the light from the light guiding member enters. The light guiding member has a side surface and a light exiting end surface which intersects the side surface and via which the light exits. The angle converter includes a light incident section on which the light from the light guiding member is incident, a light exiting section via which the light incident on the angle converter exits, and a reflection section that reflects the light incident via the light incident section toward the light exiting section. The refractive index of the interior of the angle converter is greater than the refractive index of air. The refractive index of the interior of the light guiding member is greater than the refractive index of the interior of the angle converter.

  • Patent number: 6390628
Abstract: An image display apparatus including a metal outer housing for which a filling process in a thixotropic forming method has been improved. On a reference surface of an upper housing composing the outer housing of a projection display apparatus, there are formed convex sections, and a supporting rib, the foregoing convex sections extending in the direction where a semimolten metal flows, and the foregoing supporting rib intersecting with the foregoing convex sections. Furthermore, protrusions are formed protruding from the reference surface, and flowing ribs are independently formed on base sections of the protrusions. These convex sections, supporting rib, and flowing ribs are formed in the upper housing for guiding the semimolten metal in the thixotropic forming method, and thereby ensuring filling characteristics of the semimolten metal into individual molds.
