Abstract: A thermoelectric module unit is provided with a thermoelectric module that comprises a partitioning plate, a thermoelectric semiconductor element fixed to the partitioning plate in a state passing through the partitioning plate but also in a state that is electrically insulated from the partitioning plate. A first metal electrode is connected to a first surface of the thermoelectric semiconductor element, and a second metal electrode is connected to a second surface of the thermoelectric semiconductor element. A first confined portion encloses a region from the partitioning plate towards the first surface and is also connected to a first heat pipe. An operating fluid is vacuum-sealed within the first confined portion and the first heat pipe.
Abstract: A turbo vacuum pump has a rotor and magnetic bearings. The magnetic bearings are held in a housing having a suction port and an exhaust port, and support the rotor rotatably. A peripheral flow pump stage and screw pump stage are formed in the rotor, so that the pressure at the exhaust port can be at or near atmospheric pressure level. Before starting the turbo vacuum pump, the magnetic bearings are operated to displace a rotor position and to scrape off the reaction products which have deposited inside the pump. In addition, before starting the turbo vacuum pump, a stator of the pump is heated up to decrease a binding force of the reaction products. Therefore, the pump can be restarted, even if the rotor has locked by the solidification of deposited reaction products formed during stopping of the pump.
Abstract: An electromagnetic rotating machine driven by an electromagnetic action between a stator and a rotor has drive windings fitted to the stator for generating a rotating magnetic field for rotatably driving the rotor, position control windings fitted to the stator for generating a magnetic field having a different number of poles than that of the drive windings, a magnetic force generation circuit for generating a magnetic force to act on the rotor by supplying the position control windings with an electric current effective to unbalance the magnetic field on the stator side, a circuit for detecting an induced voltage or current generated in the one or more position control windings in response to radial displacement of the rotor and the rotating magnetic field generated by the drive windings, a circuit for detecting radial displacement of the rotor based on the induced voltage or current and the magnitude and speed of the rotating magnetic field, and a position control circuit for controlling the radial positio
Abstract: Two oil passages are defined in a cylinder unit of a rotary compressor for feeding lubrication oil to front and rear bearings. The bearings bear a shaft of a rotor unit relative to the cylinder unit. At least one of the two oil passages is formed with an orifice which is defined by the cylinder unit.
