    Abstract: In a fluid jet loom in general, the loom operation is not stopped immediately after detection of the defective weft yarn, resulting unavoidably in the insertion of the next weft yarn. In this regard, the present invention provides a method for disposal of the defective weft yarn in a fluid jet loom which consists in temporarily disabling the weft yarn cutting function of a weft yarn cutter provided to the weft yarn inserting nozzle upon detection of defective weft yarn insertion, and subsequently stopping the loom operation.

    Abstract: An apparatus for locating a servicing device which travels along a parent textile machine, such as a spinning frame, having a plurality of stations and stops at any designated station of the parent machine to there perform a servicing operation, such as yarn piecing or cleaning by use of fluid, such as compressed air or vacuum, supplied from a fluid source provided separately from the servicing device. The apparatus comprises, on each station of the parent machine, a stationary connector communicating with the fluid source and a locating guide member having a locating guide groove therein, and, on the servicing device, an air cylinder, a locating rod actuated by the cylinder toward and away from the locating guide member and engageable with the guide groove and a communicating member movable together with the locating rod and engageable with the stationary connector.

    Abstract: In the weft inserting device of the invention, a pair of main nozzles are supported by a change lever and the motion of a cam lever operatively linked with movable loom parts for reciprocation thereby is transmitted to said change lever. The timing of motion transmission and interruption is controlled by a timing control unit. According to a preferred embodiment, the control unit is a microcomputer and the timing setting can be changed by changing the weft yarn selection program stored in the microcomputer.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for automatically controlling the winding tension of the roving in a bobbin lead roving machine is disclosed. The mean bobbin winding diameter D.sub.B, bobbin r.p.m. N.sub.B and the flyer r.p.m. N.sub.F are measured automatically for one or more operating spindles, and a mathematical equation (N.sub.B /N.sub.F -1).times.D.sub.B =K representative of winding conditions for the roving is solved by automatic operation based upon the above measured values. When the value K thus obtained exceeds a preset control limit, the bobbin r.p.m. is decreased or increased automatically for correcting the value K towards its central setting for automatically correcting the winding tension of the roving.

    Abstract: In a jet loom in which a weft yarn is inserted through the warp shed by a jet of fluid such as air, the thickness of the weft yarn is detected prior to insertion continuously or at intervals with a yarn thickness detector, and the pressure of ejection of the fluid jet is controlled by a result of such detection so as to be optimum for the weft insertion. The jet of fluid is ejected from a nozzle member under the controlled pressure to insert the weft yarn reliably without insertion failures.
