  • Patent number: 6726398
Abstract: A road marking device comprises: a tubular, bottomed casing which has an open top end; a cover mounted over an opening in the casing and having a window; a self-luminous marking system composed of a condenser housed in the casing, an illuminant which emits light by receiving a power supplied from the condenser, and a circuit for driving the illuminant; and a transparent element which transmits and outwardly radiates the light emitted from the illuminant. The transparent element is fixed between the cover and the casing which cooperatively hold a periphery of the transparent element, with a part of the transparent element protruding outwardly from the window in the cover. In a self-luminous marking system, an LED is utilized without application of voltage so as to detect the quantity of light in the road environment and to generate an electromotive force in response to an incident light. Based on the electromotive force generated by this LED, the drive of a display LED is controlled.

  • Patent number: 6370839
Abstract: The stretch wrapping machine employs a touch panel input device as input means for setting the film wrapping data into the controller, and the display of the touch panel input device provides digital presentation of the information on set values of the film wrapping data or a machine failure. Wrapping conditions (e.g. feed rate of the feed mechanism, control amount of the feed roller, rotation ratio of the feed roller to a stretch roller) can be automatically computed simply by entering film wrapping data on the number of wraps on the load, the film overlap amount, the film wrapping tension or the film stretch ratio, etc. The film wrapping operation is performed based on the computated conditions. The wrapping machine further comprises a load detection unit for detecting a load which is imposed on a film fed out from the feed roller onto an article.

  • Patent number: 5839850
Abstract: The following constitution is employed for enhancing the visual recognition of a road traffic sign by presenting a road traffic sign composed of a solid pattern having shades as visual image. A marking pattern divided into plural sections is tightly formed on the road, and the adjacent sections are mutually different in lightness, so that, in the road traffic sign of the invention, a solid figure is recognized as the visual image of the marking pattern. Herein, the adjacent sections have a lightness difference of 1 or more in Munsell value, and the lightness of each section is selected at lightness in two to four stages set at mutually different Munsell values. Moreover, when the adjacent sections are colored in hues mutually different in lightness, a more solid visual image will be obtained due to the difference in hue among the sections.

  • Patent number: 5542239
Abstract: A packing band having a superior weld is disclosed. The band can be made of a stretched thermoplastic resin having a flat cross section. The weld is formed by overlapping ends of the band extending in the lengthwise direction thereof. The weld portion of the band includes a plurality of welded sections separated by at least one non-welded section along the lengthwise direction of the band. The welding of the packing band can be accomplished by overlapping parts of the band in a lengthwise direction thereof; melting discontinuous portions of the parts in a pattern along the length of the band parts of a melted portion, an unmelted portion and a melted portion; and then pressing the parts together so that the melted and unmelted portions of the parts contact each other and form a weld.

  • Patent number: 5476569
Abstract: A tool for frictionally welding and binding art overlapped part of thermoplastic strap wound about an object by an vibrator. In order to horizontally vibrate the vibrator, an upper part of flange of the vibrator is abutted to a lower part of needle holder, a lower part of the flange is engaged with an elastic member, and the vibrator is lowered by direct pressure of needle holder, and lifted by the elastic member. Thus, by the leading end of vibrator that is horizontally vibrated, an upper strap is vibrated in the direction of width against a lower strap, while applying a pressure to the overlapped strap part, and the overlapped strap part is frictionally welded.

  • Patent number: 4459753
Abstract: A self-straightening tape measure which is commonly called a convex rule, has hitherto been prepared exclusively of steel, however, the tape measure of steel is not only liable to be rusted but also is dangerous owing to good conductor of electricity when used in the vicinity of electric wires. In order to eliminate the above disadvantages, the present invention provides a self-straightening tape measure of resin, which is prepared by impregnating a tape material of crossing fibers with a large amount of thermosetting resin, bending the tape material in the width direction to form an arc in cross section, so that the arc may occupy from one-third to three-fourths of the whole circumference of the circle described by extending the arc, and heating the tape material to harden the resin and to have the said arcuate form.
