Patents Assigned to Select Medizin-Technik Hermann Sutter GmbH
  • Publication number: 20050209591
Abstract: A bipolar coagulation electrode (1) has electrode poles (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) arranged at a distance from each other and one behind the other in a region of the distal electrode end (2) in the longitudinal profile of the coagulation electrode (1). At least one of the two electrode poles (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) is built to be electrically conductive and to deliver power over only a portion of its circumference and the remaining portion of its circumference is electrically insulated.

  • Publication number: 20050004571
Abstract: A bipolar tubular shaft instrument (1) has instrument legs (3) and (4), for the operation of which a pull- and/or push rod (6) is axially displaceable within a tube (7). These two parts are insulated relative to one another and are connected to current terminals (11) and (12). For electrically connecting the push rod, a plug pin (15) is provided which is displaceable relative to an opposing contact (14) and engaged therewith. The plug pin (15) is arranged on the push rod (6) neighboring the connecting joint (9) with the actuating handle (10) in generally in a direction of orientation and movement. Thus the contact remains in existence in spite of the movement, and is present in each case upon the instrument legs being closed.

  • Publication number: 20040073208
Abstract: A coagulation clamp (1) has clamp jaws (4) and two projections (2b or 2c, 2d) that impinge on these jaws directly or indirectly and that can be pivoted relative to one another on a common joint (2) with the aid of hand grips (3). The projections are insulated in the area of the joint and each connected directly or indirectly with a high-frequency terminal (HF). Here, the joint openings (6) are coated with an insulation that surrounds the joint axle (7) in the position of use, this insulation usefully being formed by a respective insulating sleeve (8). The joint axle (7) is made up of a sleeve (71) and an insert (72) that can be placed therein in telescoping fashion and that has a press-fit seating and that, on the side of sleeve (71) facing away from the insertion side, extends up to or into an opening (9a) of a termination (9)of this sleeve (71) and is fixedly connected with this sleeve termination (9), preferably being welded thereto. This results in a stable joint (2) that can absorb large forces.

  • Patent number: 6343961
Abstract: A connecting plug (1) for a bipolar coagulation instrument having an insulating body (3) for mechanically combining and electrically separating and insulating both of its blades (2) or electrical connecting lugs is provided. The blades (2) have holes (7) in the interior of the insulating body (3) at a point at which the insulating body (3) itself has holes (6), the holes (6) in the insulating body (3) and the holes (7) in the blades (2) lying superimposed in each case so that anchoring elements (8) can in each case jointly penetrate these holes (6, 7) and can thus immobilize the blades (2) against shifting in their openings (5) in insulating body (3). In this way, a mechanical securing of the blades is obtained. Both holes (6) in the insulating body (3) can be blind holes and end at a distance from each other, which combines good positive mechanical immobilization of the blades (2) with an improved insulating effect.

  • Patent number: 5746739
Abstract: A bipolar coagulation forceps 1 with a connection 2 for high frequency energy and two forceps limbs 4 capable of being pressed together against a spring tension is so constructed that a rinsing tube can be provided in a simple manner and without impinging on the space between the forceps limbs 4. For this purpose, the forceps limbs 4 comprise grips 5 which can be pushed together against spring tension with working limbs 6 subsequently fastened on them, whereby then at least one of the working limbs 6 has a hollow cross section or is constructed as a tube and has a connection 7 for the rinsing fluid, so that guidance parts 11 can be arranged between the grips 5 for the reciprocal guidance of the working tips 3 of the forceps 1. The working limbs 6 are for this reason arranged on parallel narrow sides 8 of the grips 5, that is lateral to the grip areas, where the guiding parts 11 are accommodated.

  • Patent number: 5269782
Abstract: A bipolar medical coagulation and/or cauterizing instrument has two elongated electrodes with first end portions which constitute the working end of the instrument and second end portions which are connectable to different poles of a high-frequency generator. The intermediate portions of the electrodes are surrounded by deformable insulators which are shrunk onto the respective electrodes and are confined in a tubular member serving to prevent the electrodes from moving relative to each other. To this end, the intermediate portions have cross sections which are out-of-round and/or which vary in the longitudinal direction of the respective electrodes. The insulators closely follow the outlines of the respective intermediate portions, and the tubular member closely follows the outlines of the insulators.
