  • Patent number: 5160699
Abstract: An enclosed sanitizing cabinet for exposing eyewear articles to ultraviolet radiation from a fluorescent ultraviolet lamp which preferably extends substantially the entire height of the cabinet. The cabinet contains shelf-forming rod members spaced and configured to support eyewear articles in such manner that the surfaces of said articles which contact a user's skin in use are exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Interior surfaces of the cabinet are of a nature and formed of materials so as to reflect ultraviolet radiation to all articles therein and to minimize the differential in radiation exposure between articles adjacent and more remote from the radiation source.

  • Patent number: 4479738
Abstract: An assembly is provided for use in securing a secondary unit, such as a welder's mask or the like, to a primary unit, such as a protective helmet often referred to as a hard hat. The secondary unit is mounted for adjustment between operative and inoperative modes relative to the primary unit. The primary unit is provided with at least one exterior shoulder projecting laterally outwardly from a wall surface. The shoulder is provided with an upwardly extending passageway. The assembly includes a base portion which rests upon and is supported by the shoulder. Connected to and depending from the base portion are a plurality of fingers which extend into and resiliently engage the shoulder passageway and retain the bracket in assembled relation with the primary unit. Adjustable means coact with the base portion to secure the secondary unit to the bracket base portion whereby the secondary unit can assume a selected mode relative to the primary unit.

  • Patent number: 4109320
Abstract: An assembly is provided which is adapted to be used in attaching a secondary unit, such as a face protective device, to a primary unit, such as a safety helmet. The helmet is of rigid material and has the lower peripheral edge thereof provided with a flange forming a gutter or trough. A gap is formed in the flange so as to enable the assembly to be slidably mounted on and removed from the primary unit flange. The assembly includes a bracket having a base portion adapted to be in slidable supporting engagement with a segment of the exterior wall surface of the primary unit. The bracket also includes a first extension extending laterally from the base portion and slidably positioned within the trough at a predetermined location, and a second extension offset from said first extension and disposed outside the trough and in sliding engagement with the flange. The extensions coact with one another to resiliently grip the flange therebetween and retain the bracket in the predetermined location.
