Patent number: 5902551Abstract: A docking station with a filter that sits inline in a process gas channel and that alternatively receives a loopback plate, a sensor plate and a removable purifier cartridge for particle removal as well as the removal of trace amounts of moisture, oxygen, and other chemical impurities from a gas stream. The removable purifier cartridge comprises a purifying medium with a pair of sealing poppet valves that automatically close when the cartridge is removed from the docking station. A block body is included in the docking station with gas line fittings for close gland-to-gland separations, while the purifier cartridge is off to one side, and not positioned directly in line between the glands.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 1997Date of Patent: May 11, 1999Assignee: Semi-Gas Systems, Inc.Inventors: Cathy L. Cowan, Lau Y. Hong

Patent number: 5558688Abstract: A filter-purifier that removes particles as well as trace amounts of moisture, oxygen, and other chemical impurities from a gas stream. The filter-purifier includes a removable canister that contains a purifying medium and a pair of sealing poppet valves that automatically close when the canister is removed from an in-line block body. The block body includes gas line fittings with close gland-to-gland separations, since the canister is off to one side and not positioned directly in line between the glands.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1996Date of Patent: September 24, 1996Assignee: Semi-Gas Systems, Inc.Inventors: Cathy L. Patent number: 5152313Abstract: The present invention comprises a safety apparatus which includes a means for covering a disconnect valve means and an urging means disposed near the covering means. The urging means urges the covering means to cover the disconnect valve means. The urging means further has a retraction mechanism for retracting the covering means from the disconnect valve means only when an external retracting command activates a retracting force on the retracting mechanism. Therefore, the valve is covered by the covering means and is prevented from being inadvertently operated during a system failure and an unsafe operation condition.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1992Date of Patent: October 6, 1992Assignee: Semi-Gas Systems, Inc.Inventor: William H. Chapman, Jr.

Patent number: 5139747Abstract: A filter-purifier that removes sub-micron particles as well as trace amounts of moisture, oxygen, and other chemical impurities from a gas stream. The filter-purifier has a pair of end caps, a baffle stack, a purifying medium bed to contain a purifying medium, a pair of face-seal style fittings, a pre-filter cup, a purifying medium retaining screen, a final filter, a pair of spring stacks, a pair of collars to retain the spring stacks, and a cylindrical housing welded between the end caps.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1991Date of Patent: August 18, 1992Assignee: Semi-gas Systems, Inc.Inventors: Michael W. Patent number: 4971110Abstract: A first and second conduit are connected together by a screw thread attachment. A gasket hermetically seals the first and second conduit together. The first conduit has a seal member which is shaped to engage a sealing surface of the first conduit. Spring washers force the seal member against the sealing surface. The seal member has an extension which engages the gasket such that when the conduits are screwed togther, the seal member is lifted off of the sealing surface.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1989Date of Patent: November 20, 1990Assignee: Semi-Gas Systems, Inc.Inventor: Michael W. Patent number: 4899585Abstract: An optical probe is sealingly mounted in an access port of a pressurized container. The probe comprises a glass rod of a predetermined thickness having a conical end tip. An optical transmitter and receiver is connected to the glass rod. The fiber optic transmitter and receiver sends visible red light down the glass rod. When the liquid level inside the container drops below the end tip of the glass rod, reflected light will be received from the glass rod and detected.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1988Date of Patent: February 13, 1990Assignee: Semi-Gas Systems, Inc.Inventor: Edward Kulha

Patent number: 4782226Abstract: A tube is attached inside a container and forms an inlet aperture. A transparent bulb is sealed over the end of the tube. A fiber optic probe is inserted into the tube and bulb. The fiber optic probe is connected to a fiber optic transmitter and receiver, which sends a beam of light down the probe. The beam of light reflects off the contents of the container and the reflected light is received by the fiber optic probe. The fiber optic transmitter and receiver compares the light intensity of the reflected light with the light intensity of the light beam. Changes in this radio indicate there has been a change in the contents of the container.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1987Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Assignee: Semi-Gas Systems, Inc.Inventors: Martin F.
